Life is an art form - an ongoing act of gardening. Planting seeds, hoping your hard work “yields” a fruitful crop.

The seeds are us. We are sometimes planted in the wrong spot unable to root. Too much sun or not enough. Overwatered or needing alternative nourishment. A series of “trial and error” until the proper care is determined.

Today, this week, this month, the rest of the year, and (God willing) the years to come is your season to glow unapologetically. Expand your roots, fill your cup, and bloom beautifully.

In case you haven’t heard, no one is coming to save you. It is up to you to craft the life you feel you deserve.

We sometimes have a tendency to operate with a spirit of entitlement. Demanding of others what we have yet to obtain ourselves.

The idea that people are “obligated” to do for you is asinine. And with this expectation you’ll be disappointed more times than not. Instead, hold yourself accountable. If you are able to set your own table then by all means lay out your list of ideals. But if not, the task at hand is you.

Discernment is key when engaging with others. Some people will learn of your accomplishments and smile ear-to-ear as if it was them who attained the accolade - genuineness. Some will clap with “side-eye” energy. And others will attempt to throw you off course by slinging bu****it your way.

Some days I feel physically charged but spiritually disconnected. Other days, I feel in control of my emotional expression, and ready to take on the world. Our overall wellness is variable. Its status can change with each moment that passes.

I was finally able to get a good night’s sleep after feeling exhausted the past few days. My mind tends to go into overdrive when I’m stressed or positively consumed. The latter being the main culprit. Automation of my parental duties also leaves me feeling drained some days too. Not necessarily in a bad way but rather zapped from a day fulfilled coupled with a never-ending to-do list.

This past week I was tasked with the usual - kid, work, school, home, etc. Bombarded with coworkers lacking common sense thus requiring excessive directives. Other colleagues needing to heal but attempting to do so through the service of others. Two weeks left in my current course - midterm + research paper. The carousel of recreational interests my kid adorns. Monster Energy AMA Supercross being his latest fix. Pouring energy into FGC. All the while trying to pour even more energy into self. The hardest part of it all is managing feelings of overstimulation. Rest is usually the cure. But on days when sleep is a distance away, I tend to look one way while feeling another.

Today I feel refreshed.

Life is a constant cycle of change. Some transitions are premeditated, while others are forced and unexpected.

The latter most times being reminiscent of “survival mode”. Though the end goal is to identify a path forward.

Growth demands self assessment, a commitment to new routines, and grace for the unknown.

Don’t remain in your comfort zone hoping to evade uncomfortability.
