Dawn's Place - ahomefordawn

Dawn's Place - ahomefordawn We provide survivors of s*x trafficking and CSE a space to heal, to grow and to reclaim their lives.

Dawn's Place is a non-profit organization that proactively supports women negatively affected by commercial s*xual exploitation by providing services to women and raising awareness through education, prevention, public policy reform and community collaborations. We work to improve the lives of s*xually exploited women through providing housing, trauma recovery services, vocational training and oth

er services. Dawn's Place was named in honor of a prostituted woman who was murdered in Camden, New Jersey. The recognition of the need for Dawn's Place grew out of the experience of several persons who were members of the Philadelphia Anti-Trafficking Coalition, the Catholic Coalition for Justic and lawers from the Defender Association of Philadelphia. They saw that there was no residence available where trafficked women could have long-term healing and rehabilitative services for the particular experience of being prostituted. These persons came together to search for a solution, and Dawn's Place residence is part of this solution.

We invite you to JOIN US and learn about anti-human trafficking at sporting and other large events.

As major events continue to grow in scale and impact, so do the risks associated with exploitation. This symposium offers an opportunity to engage with experts and strengthen prevention efforts ahead of major global sporting events. Communicate and interact with leading voices across law, healthcare, advocacy, and community response to explore practical strategies for prevention and collaboration.

In 2025, our impact took shape in quiet, powerful ways. Healing from trauma rarely fits into charts or totals; it unfolds through hard days, hopeful moments, and steady, unseen steps forward. For us, every woman walking through our doors this past year was one more life touched by love, safety, and the possibility of ongoing healing. Read more about what healing looked like last year in our 2025 Impact Report.

For the first time in 16 years, the lights are dark at Dawn’s Place this holiday season. After the recent fire left our home unlivable, residents were able to find safe housing during the emergency, but there will be no tree in the living room, no stockings hung with care, and no holiday meal shared around a table filled with laughter and hope.

As we plan for the necessary repairs and reopening, our education and advocacy work continues — but each day we remain closed, another woman in crisis has no place to call home. Your support is urgently needed and will help ensure Dawn’s Place continues to be a safe haven for survivors of s*x trafficking and commercial s*xual exploitation well into the future.

This season, we’re counting our blessings—and that includes you! Your generous support throughout the past year has filled our closets to overflowing with bedroom items to welcome each survivor to their new home at Dawn's Place; stocked our pantry with food for the meals they shared together; and it's helped every woman we serve begin a healing journey leading toward independence.

We are grateful to count you as part of our community. From our family to yours, thank you, and have a blessed Thanksgiving holiday.
