Meet Uchenna Elite-Attah an educator, development advocate, and program leader passionate about reimagining how young people learn and lead. Her work spans education innovation, girls’ empowerment, and sustainable development, driven by a firm belief that every child deserves the skills, confidence, and opportunities to thrive.

Uchenna brings valuable experience from her work with organizations such as the UN Sustainable Development Network and Theirworld and is the founder of Elite Africa where she has supported schools to deliver more relevant, future-focused learning. She is deeply committed to building programs and systems that empower girls to unlock their potential and shape their own futures.

Observed every year on October 11, this day celebrates the power, potential, and voices of girls around the world. It’s a time to recognize their leadership, highlight the challenges they face, and reaffirm our commitment to advancing their rights and opportunities.

The 2025 theme, “The Girl I Am, The Change I Lead: Girls on the Frontlines of Crisis,” celebrates girls as leaders and changemakers — standing strong in the face of global challenges, from conflict and climate change to inequality and injustice.

At Give Girls A Chance, we believe that when girls lead, communities thrive. This competition is your chance to share your voice and ideas on how girls can be agents of peace, resilience, and transformation in their communities and beyond. 🌍✨

We celebrated International Day of the Girl Child at a commemorative event organized by the Federal Ministry of Women Affairs & Social Development in partnership with The Women International, and Save The Children.

It was an incredible honor to stand in solidarity with girls everywhere to celebrate their strength, their stories and their unstoppable spirit.
