Reunion Weekend kicked off on Friday with a full slate of meaningful gatherings across Penn Carey Law!

Alumni heard from the Dean at the State of the Law School, reconnecting with the latest updates and vision for the School’s future, then came together for class cocktail receptions filled with lively conversation and shared memories. The day also included a vibrant affinity event celebrating the many communities that make up our alumni network.

Please join us in congratulating Mark B. Leadlove L’83 on being appointed Deputy Attorney General in the Missouri Attorney General Office. Leadlove has over 37 years of litigation experience at Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner (BCLP). Most recently, he served as a practice group leader responsible for 130 lawyers in 15 offices across the nation.

Curry has been with DLA Piper since 2020, where she serves as a core member of the firm’s market-leading Data Protection, Privacy and Security practice, where she advises both Fortune 500 and emerging companies on privacy, cybersecurity, crisis management, and national security issues.

From the rolling hills of Tuscany to the heart of one of Italy’s most historic cities, members of the Penn Carey Law European Law Society had an an unforgettable time in Siena for their annual trip!

The experience offered alumni the opportunity to explore the charming medieval city while also strengthening connections with each other and learning more about the Law School today from Dean Lee.

Please join us in congratulating Kathryn “Katie” Thomson L’90 on being named Secretary of Transportation for the Maryland Department of Transportation. She had been serving as Acting Secretary since January. Prior to this appointment, she served as Deputy Administrator for the Federal Aviation Administration.

Hearty congratulations to Z**i Petkova L'16 who was recently promoted to partner at Freshfields! Z**i advises public and private companies on U.S. and cross-border corporate matters, including acquisitions, divestitures, mergers, carve-outs, strategic investments, joint ventures, spin-offs, stockholder activism and corporate governance matters.

Previously, she was an associate at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP and Affiliates.

Reliving Reunion Weekend! Over 650 alumni returned to the Law School on Friday, May 15 through Saturday, May 16 for a memorable Reunion Weekend that celebrated lifelong friendships and the enduring strength of the Penn Carey Law community. Across two days of events, alumni from class years ending in 6 and 1 reconnected with classmates, learned about the Law School today, and made new memories together. They also raised over $2 million in support of Penn Carey Law.
