June is LAM awareness month. LAM (Lymphangioleiomyomatosis) is a progressive lung disease that almost entirely effects women and is one of the 5% of rare diseases that has treatment thanks to the powers of disease research. With ongoing achievements in studies and therapies, this time of the year is set aside to celebrate the progress made in getting us closer to a cure.
