Philadelphia Suns

Ever since 1972, the Philly Suns have played an active part in enriching the Asian communities of Philadelphia through sports & service. We're family. Cleanups.

But the Suns have been more than just a community organization for the part 40 years. Past and present. Basketball teams. Volleyball teams. Regional Tournaments. Lion dances. Broad Street Run. CCC&C Summer leagues. BBQs. Paintball. So many team dinners. This group is for everybody who was and is part of the Suns - played on our teams, joined in our lion dances, ran in our tournaments/leagues, balled with us in the summer, interested in joining, have known us for years, or simply support what we do. To all the friends & family of the Suns, we would be nothing without your support.

We outside and we worldwide 🫣 here’s to new friends!

We had the opportunity to meet Hải Nam Liên Hữu , the oldest lion dance team in District 5 in Ho Chi Minh City and one of the best teams in the world winning multiple titles in Vietnam and represented Vietnam at Genting World Lion Dance Championship! We discussed training, discipline, and differences in our styles while ultimately preserving the art, sport, and culture of Lion dance.

Thank you Sifu Lâm Dân for the amazing hospitality during our visit, and we hope to see you and your team soon!
