Do it Again
Exodus 34:1 (NIV)

Grounded in Exodus 34:1, "Do It Again" addresses the unique pain of destroying something we were entrusted to carry. After Moses shattered the first stone tablets in fury, God did not scold him—He said, "chisel out two stone tablets like the first ones". God’s call to "do it again" is not a reprimand, but a statement of confidence that failure does not have the final word. What feels broken beyond repair can become the very occasion for a deeper experience of God's grace and mercy.
Reflective Questions
1. What have you broken — a commitment, a relationship, a version of your calling — that you have assumed is beyond God's willingness to rewrite?
2. Moses had to do the chiseling; God supplied the word. Where is God asking you to do the preparatory work of "cutting the stone" — showing up, trying again — even before you know what will be written on it?
3. What would it look like, practically, to "chisel out two new tablets" this week in the area where you feel you've failed?
