Annual Community Picnic Sat July 25, 2026,10 am - 2 pm, Gorgas Park, Fun for Everyone!

The annual Veterans Concert & Picnic is held each year in Gorgas Park. Sponsored by the 21st Ward Veterans Association, the event is open to the public and encourages folks of all ages to attend. It gives young and old alike a chance to meet veterans in person and thank them for their service.

Flag Placement Events Honoring Our Veterans & First Responders: Each year, our community gathers to honor the brave men & women who served our nation. Join us in placing flags & participating in Memorial Day services throughout our district.

HOLY SEPULCHRE CEMETERY
3301 W. Cheltenham Avenue, Cheltenham Township, PA 19150
Sunday, May 17th – Assemble at 9:00 AM (Main Office)
Over 1,000 graves of veterans and first responders will be honored.
With adequate support, the event should conclude by 12:00 PM.
Hosted annually by the Henry Houston American Legion Post; now carried forward by the Sons of the American Legion.
A meaningful opportunity to teach children and grandchildren about service, sacrifice, and the true meaning of Memorial Day.

LEVERINGTON CEMETERY
6075 Ridge Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19128
Saturday, May 23rd – Assemble at 9:00 AM (Flagpole)
One of Philadelphia’s oldest cemeteries, with veterans dating back to the Revolutionary War.
Smaller grounds—flag placement expected to finish in 90 minutes.
