The National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Inc., Philadelphia Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., and Pyramid Temple No. 1 are co-hosting an "Engage and Empower" Town Hall Meeting, at Overbrook High School, 7pm-8:30pm. Every Wednesday is "Walk In Wednesday" at Rivers Casino where one can come in and apply for a job between the hours of 10am- 12noon no appointment necessary. The positions open are in security, food and beverage, housekeeping, table games and operations

Representatives from organizations providing utility assistance, legal services, computer and skills training and more will be available.

PA State Rep. Roni Green from the 190th legislative district and the Kamala Harris/Tim Walz campaign will come to 22nd and Cambria Streets, 11am-1pm to encourage voter participation. It's been reported that the 11th Ward in the Allegheny WEst area of North Philadelphia has the lowest voter turnout rate in the entire city of Philadelphia. State Rep. Roni Green and other concerned citizens want to change that report.

Tuesday, October 29th is the deadline date, to apply for a mail-in ballot in Pennsylvania.
You can go in person to one of the (10) Election Offices opened by the Philadelphia City Commissioners Office to sign up for Vote By Mail. Again the deadline to sign up for Vote By Mail is October 29th. Please do not wait, handle your Voting Business business today! Call City Commissioner Omar Sabir's Office for a full listing of locations where one can sign up to vote by mail! 215-686-3462.
In North Philly, you can go to the Satellite Election Office at 2301 N. Broad Street, open Mondays-Fridays, 10am-6pm and Saturdays and Sundays, 10am-4pm. (That's at Broad and Dauphin).

Temple University is hosting it's Fall Job Fair at Temple University, Tuesday, October 29, 2024, 10am-2pm at Howard Gittis Student Activity Center, Room 200 at 1755 N. 13th Street. 48 employers are confirmed to be in attendance. The 39th Police District and the 39th Police District Community Advisory Board, (PDAC) will host its annual Halloween Party for neighborhood children at the 39th Police District Headquarters .5pm-9pm. If you want to support a positive cause,-----The Philadelphia Licensed Tavern and Merchants Association presents it's 40th Ruby Jubilee Scholarship Awards Banquet at I.A.T.S. E. Local B Ballroom at 2401 S. Swanson Street, 7pm-11pm, Sunday, November 3rd, just before election day!. This group is largely made up of African American bar and restaurant owners. They raise money to assist Black youth who are already enrolled in college with some of their basic expenses. This is a formal affair. If you know of a family in need of food and they live in the Allegheny West neighborhood of North Philadelphia, they can come to the Allegheny West Foundation, (AWF) at 2330 W. Allegheny Avenue, between 10am-2pm, Mondays through Fridays, and receive a box of non-perishable food items such as rice, beans, spaghetti, tomato sauce, cereal, other canned vegetables, etc. depending on the week, they may also have some meat to distribute. The food is distributed on a first come, first serve basis.
