Join us this Sunday!! On September 28, 2025, experience an intimate, experiential afternoon with Amy Edelstein as we immerse ourselves in an exploration of Teilhard’s passion for the possible.

Zoom from 2:00 pm to 3:30 pm ET: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/84802215549
In-Person from 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm ET: https://www.zeffy.com/en-US/ticketing/coffee-contemplation-and-conversation

Edelstein will share selections from her new book, A Zest for Life, in which she turned passages from Teilhard’s Letters in Time of War into poems, without changing the original text. Drawing from the evocative correspondence between Teilhard and his cousin, Marguerite Teillard-Chambon, these letters have the power to uplift and inspire. They share a remarkable evolutionary vision of a human soul reaching for greater and greater divinity. Edelstein will share her insights and essays inspired by Teilhard’s work. Participants will also have the opportunity to write and share their own poems or prose inspired by the readings, deepening the engagement and internalization of this profound and transformative view.

In-person participants will receive a copy of Edelstein’s book, A Zest for Life.

Two weeks away! Teilhard de Chardin: Lured by Love

Join Kathleen Duffy, SSJ, PhD, on October 4, 2025 for the Mystics & Prophets Masterclass Series - a masterclass series on 20th-century spiritual giants with leading contemplative teachers.

The mystics understood union: union with God isn’t an escape from the world, it’s the power to change it. This is why we need Pierre Teilhard de Chardin! As Teilhard said, “The day will come when, after harnessing space, the winds, the tides, and gravitation, we shall harness for God the energies of love.”

A bold, cosmic thinker, Teilhard reconciled science and spirituality and helped to translate ancient wisdom for today’s world. Join Kathleen Duffy to help uncover the life of Teilhard de Chardin in “Teilhard de Chardin: Lured by Love.”

Teilhard de Chardin’s Zest for Life: Coffee, Contemplation, and Conversation

Sunday, September 28, 2025

We hope you will join us on Sunday, September 28, 2025 for an intimate, experiential afternoon, where we will immerse ourselves with Amy Edelstein and her recent book, A Zest for Life, in which she explores the evocative correspondence between Teilhard and his cousin, Marguerite Teillard-Chambon. These letters share the remarkable evolutionary vision of a human soul reaching for greater and greater divinity and have the power to uplift and inspire. In her book, Amy turns passages from Teilhard’s these letters into poems, while keeping close to the original text and focusing on Teilhard’s passion for the possible.

Amy will share selections from her book and share her method. Participants will also have the opportunity to write and share their own poems or prose inspired by the readings, deepening the engagement and internalization of this profound and transformative view.

The event is co-sponsored by both the American Teilhard Association and the Institute for Religion and Science at Chestnut Hill College and will take place in the East Parlor, St. Joseph Hall, Chestnut Hill College.

For those participants who are able to join us in person, the event will feature coffee and a desert bar as well as a free copy of Amy’s book A Zest for Life. If you are unable to join us in person, there is a Zoom option. We request that those who are attending in person arrive at 1:30 pm ET so that we can enjoy conversation and refreshments ahead of the program. The main event will be available at 2:00 pm for all. Since the event will be interactive, please bring a notebook and pen or pencil or your tablet.

There is no charge for the event, but you must register for either Zoom or in-person.
