As public health advocates, it is key to understand the current legislative landscape of food security and consider the implications for the future. Insufficient nutrition and food insecurity are leading causes of chronic disease and healthcare costs in the United States. The number of Americans who do not have enough to eat and do not know where their next meal will come from is on the rise. At the same time, the H.R. 1 Budget Reconciliation Bill cuts basic needs programs that support food security, including the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). Food pantries and programs that support families and individuals facing food insecurity are already under strain, which will grow substantially as households loose access to SNAP. Join us Wednesday, January 28, 2025 for this informative webinar to learn more from expert speakers on raising awareness, planning for the future and inspiring action in food security and public health.
