MyHeartMap Challenge in Seattle has launched! Modeled after MyHeartMap Challenge in Philadelphia, game players will assist UW clinicians by reporting the location of AEDs in community settings throughout Seattle.

More than one million automated external defibrillators are located in U.S. office buildings and public spaces, but are often hidden away. Now, a crowdsourcing project in Philadelphia has mapped hundreds of AEDs throughout the city, a potential boon to 911 dispatch centers.

Did you know an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) diagnoses the heart rhythm and only delivers a shock when necessary? Otherwise it gives you verbal instructions for performing CPR. Anyone can use them... look for AEDs and you could save a life!
