Girls on The Run inspires girls to be joyful, healthy and confident. We serve Philadelphia County.

Girls on the Run Philadelphia – a life-changing, non-profit program for girls in the 3rd through 5th grade. Our mission is to inspire girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running. The 20-lesson Girls on the Run curriculum combines training for a 5K (3.1 miles) running event with lessons that inspire girls to become independent thinkers, enhance their problem solving skills and make healthy decisions. All of this is accomplished through an active collaboration with girls and their parents, schools, volunteers, staff, and the community. Girls on the Run Philadelphia is an Independent Council of Girls on the Run International, which has a network of 180+ locations across the United States and Canada.

Registration for our Fall 2026 5K is OPEN! Lace up and join us on Sunday, December 6th at the Navy Yard as we celebrate our girls crossing the finish line of their season! 🏃‍♀️✨

Whether you're running alongside a girl as her running buddy, cheering from the sidelines, or showing up for the whole community, this is a morning you won't want to miss. Our 5K isn't about being the fastest. It's about joy, confidence, and showing every girl what she's capable of. 💗

Get up and get moving! Happy National Women's Health and Fitness Day! Today we're Doing the Run Thing by putting our well-being first. Thank you to Fleet Feet for helping Girls on the Run inspire girls to find joy in movement, confidence in their bodies, and proof that fitness can be both empowering and fun.

Over the past few weeks, we trained 65 new coaches to lead our girls this season — and yesterday, it all came together as we officially kicked off the Fall 2026 season! 🍂🏃‍♀️

These amazing volunteers show up week after week to help girls build confidence, strength, and joy — on and off the course. We are so grateful for their commitment and can't wait to see the impact they make this season!
