Gift of Giving, Inc. (formerly Angels of Christmas, Inc.)

(formerly Angels of Christmas) is a non-profit with the mission to support families in achieving stability by meeting their everyday needs through financial assistance, nourishing meals, & the tools necessary for educational success. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, 100% volunteer-staffed organization founded in 1995 to help families and individuals in need. Originally providing meals and gifts to 30 fa

milies in Philadelphia during the holiday season, we’ve expanded to offer year-round support, including meals for homebound elderly with Caring for Friends, school supplies for students and teachers, and furniture for families in need. Our holiday initiatives include food baskets with the Knights of Columbus, gifts for children, and our holiday event which includes crafts, a magic show, and a visit from Santa. As we continue to grow our outreach, we remain committed to alleviating immediate struggles, fostering educational success, and supporting our communities for a brighter future.

We're in the final stretch of A Gift for the Classroom, and we need your help to cross the finish line!

Right now, teachers are still setting up their classrooms out of pocket, and school starts in just a few weeks. Every pencil case, composition book, and pencils dropped off this week goes straight to a student who needs it.

Here's how easy it is to help: next time you're out running errands, swing by one of our four drop-off spots and leave a few supplies in the bin. That's it!

We believe the best way to help is to listen. So, we went straight to the educators and asked them: what does your classroom really need to get through the school year?
The result? A teacher-curated list of school supplies that we’ll collect in order to fill our classrooms this summer.

Every year, many students and families are unprepared to start the school year strong. Teachers give so much, quietly spending their own funds while families are stretched thin. Not on our watch!

That's exactly why Gift of Giving, Inc. created our annual back to school drive dedicated to making sure Philadelphia's students and teachers have what they need before the first bell rings.

This summer, we're asking you to help get our classrooms filled. Whether you donate one item or a whole bag, spread the word or drop off supplies, every contribution adds up!

It’s that time of the year again! 📚

Gift of Giving’s Back to School Drive is BACK, and we could not be more excited to kick off this summer's drive with the most generous community in Philadelphia!

We know that when a child walks into school with a full backpack and the right supplies, they feel ready and seen. And more importantly, our teachers are equipped to start the year strong.

This summer, we’ll be collecting classroom supplies to put directly into the hands of students and teachers who need them most, easing the burden on families as the new school year begins.

Here's what's coming:

▪ Designated drop-off locations across the Philadelphia area will be announced soon!
▪ Volunteer opportunities are coming too. We'll need your hands on packing day!

✨Volunteer Spotlight✨

‘One of the things I’m most proud of has been being part of the rebranding of Angels of Christmas into Gift of Giving, Inc.’

Ten years. Countless hours. One incredible woman.

Colleen has been by our side through every chapter, volunteering at every possible moment and evolving alongside us as we’ve expanded our community offerings and our mission to achieve stability for families right here in the Philadelphia region.

What makes Colleen so incredible? She uses her voice literally and figuratively through every channel she has: social media, marketing, networking, and even her own personal outreach. If there’s a way to bring more people in, Colleen has found it.

And if that wasn’t enough, Colleen also dedicates her time to the American Cancer Society Relay for Life, all while working full time as a Blended Case Manager. She even recently became involved in a legacy-related Memorial Golf Outing in honor of her grandson, Cole, who passed nearly two years ago.

Volunteers like Colleen are the backbone of everything we do. We’re so incredibly lucky and grateful to have her in our GOG Family. 🙏
