“You just had to be there.”

Undergraduate Leadership Institute in Charlotte, North Carolina was one for the books. The energy, brotherhood, and leadership development on display reminded us why Kappa Alpha Psi continues to shape the next generation of leaders.

We were challenged to think differently during “Work Smarter, Not Harder: Using AI to Elevate Your Game” with Brother Terrance Bowman, pushed beyond conventional thinking in “Breaking the Box” with Brother Derek Greenfield, and inspired by the life-changing wisdom shared in “Learn 2 Live” by Brother Dominique Calhoun, Esq.

And you already know we showed love when our Grand Polemarch, Brother Jimmy McMikle, was in the building! His presence, along with the leadership of Brother Rhen C. Bass, Sr., CPA, Grand Keeper of Exchequer, made an already impactful day even more special.

The videos tell part of the story, but the conversations, connections, and lessons learned are something you had to experience firsthand.

ULI 2026 continued with our corporate theme as the Mu Klass stepped out in coat and tie, representing professionalism, leadership, and the future of our brotherhood. Brothers participated in personal development seminars focused on professional growth, personal style, mental health awareness, and leadership excellence. The day also included a community service initiative where brothers packed 300 school supply bags for students in need, made possible through the support of our partners at Amazon.📚✏️

The afternoon shifted to cultural enrichment as brothers explored some of Charlotte’s premier institutions, including the Harvey B. Gantt Center for African-American Arts + Culture, Bechtler Museum of Modern Art, and The Mint Museum, among other local cultural experiences. These opportunities reinforced the importance of education, service, culture, and lifelong learning within Greek life and collegiate leadership. From professional development to community impact, ULI continues to prepare the next generation of fraternity leaders to make a difference on campus and beyond.
