Did you know that the house at the heart of Cranaleith is on the National Register of Historic Places? 🏑

The Mill-Rae House, built in 1890, was home to suffragist Rachel Foster Avery and designed by Minerva Parker Nichols, the first woman in the US to establish her own architecture practice. Susan B. Anthony walked through these doors and movements were organized in these rooms.

And today, those same rooms are open to you. For retreat, for reflection, for gathering.

Come be part of what this place has always been: a space where people come together to do meaningful things.

Eid Mubarak to all celebrating Eid al-Adha. πŸŒ™

Eid al-Adha, the Festival of Sacrifice, is one of Islam's holiest celebrations. It honors the willingness of Ibrahim to surrender what he loved most in devotion to God, and calls communities together in prayer, generosity, and the sharing of what we have with those in need.

At Cranaleith, we are moved by traditions that center sacrifice, gratitude, and care for the most vulnerable. May this Eid bring peace and joy to you and yours.

Chag Sameach to all celebrating Shavuot this week. 🌾

Shavuot is a Jewish harvest festival that also marks the giving of the Torah at Mount Sinai, a moment of covenant, gratitude, and community gathered around something larger than themselves.

Here at Cranaleith, our volunteers tend this garden with that same spirit; hands in the soil, showing up for one another & trusting what grows.

Happy World Bee Day. 🐝

A hive only works because every bee is connected to every other bee.
No one survives alone.
No one thrives without the whole.

The bees already know this - maybe we just need to catch up.

Back by popular demand. 🎢

On June 14, Warren B. Cooper returns to Cranaleith with Sankofa Song Encore: A New Negro Spiritual for the I.C.E. Age, a Juneteenth presentation that is part concert, part history, part call to action.

This audio-visual musical journey moves through the history of the Negro Spiritual and into its urgent relevance today, examining identity, belonging, and what freedom looks like for all people in this moment. Blending music, imagery, oratorio, and community singing, this is an experience that refreshes hope while calling us toward an organized response to the threats facing our democracy.

Sankofa is an African principle rooted in an Ashanti Akan proverb: it is not taboo to go back and fetch what you forgot. We carry the best of our past into the present to build a solid future.

Featuring the talents of: Warren B. Cooper (Vocals), Aaron Graves .graves.735 (Keyboard) & Monique Robinson (Audiovisual)

This Memorial Day Cranaleith is offering space to grieve.

On May 25, join veterans Jenny Pacanowski and Chris Antal for a Memorial Day Death Wail Ceremony on the contemplative grounds of Cranaleith Spiritual Center.
Together, we will remember the human and environmental costs of US wars, mourn in community, and practice the ancient ritual of the death wail, a communal expression of grief with roots across human history.

Women Veterans Empowered & Thriving

Grief shared is grief held. We hope you'll join us.
