This Giving Week, we come together not only to support our local community, but also to honor Tyler, Christina, and Christian. By giving back, we carry their spirits forward, turning our grief into generosity, and our memories into meaningful action. Their legacy lives on through every act of kindness, every donation, and every moment of community connection. On behalf of the foundation, we thank you for standing with us, for honoring their memory, and for helping us make a difference . Your support means more than words can express.
Each day this week we want to take a moment to share exactly where your generous Giving Week donations are going, and how they are making a real difference. To start off, we will begin with Open Arms Adoption Network. With food insecurity on the rise and becoming a more urgent concern, we chose to make a larger donation of $15,000 this year. Because of its impact, it will count toward 2 days of Giving week.
Here is a message from Open Arms…..
"Open Arms Adoption Network is beyond grateful to again receive support from the Christina and Tyler Roy Foundation.
We are an adoption program that believes deeply in being able to provide the wide range of supports our clients need while making life changing decisions. We believe the adoption journey should be filled with education, choices, compassion, and personalized attention. The complex issues surrounding adoption means we must fundraise to support the vast array of needs our clients present with in a world challenging for many to negotiate. Often, parenting and not adoption is the ultimate and most appropriate decision for a newborn.
The Christina and Tyler Roy Foundation helps us offer safe and nurturing 24/7 interim care homes for their newborn so new mothers have the time to rally family support, and to get the supplies needed to safely bring their baby home. Longer interim care stays that enable women to get prepared to parent
costs our program tens of thousands of dollars each year and there is no revenue coming in to support this service other than philanthropy.
The other aspect of the foundations support that has become essential is helping our clients, and the young children they are already raising, who are experiencing food insecurity. We are all aware of the growing cost of feeding a family and not having your
most basic needs met while trying to make enormous long-term decisions regarding whether to parent or to plan an adoption for a newborn is unimaginable. The Christina and Tyler Roy Foundation’s support enables us to provide grocery store gift cards on an
as-needed basis. The impact of these gift cards is truly life changing.
