Remember October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Today more than 3.1 million breast cancer survivors live in the U.S. Experts predict the lifetime risk of developing breast cancer in the US is about 1 in 8 for women and 1 in 1000 for men. With breast cancer continuing to impact so many people, it's important to understand the disease, what we as individuals can do to reduce your risk of developing it and what strides researchers are making to prevent and cure breast and all cancers. To help reduce your risk, live a healthy lifestyle which will not only reduce your risk of initial breast cancer diagnosis, but will also prevent recurrence.
