The discovery center is a groundbreaking venture by two of our most beloved organizations. It will be a national model for partnership and collaboration, reaching more than 15,000 students per year in Audubon’s programs for 6- to 12-year-olds and Outward Bound’s programs for 12- to 18-year-olds. The Center will protect a unique habitat rarely found in a major urban area and will provide education and adventure programs that inspire self-discovery, foster personal achievement, and build community across Philadelphia

Harlon's Fund helps organizations that inspire healing through the power of nature. Last week we sent a large donation to YMCA Camp Ockanickon, Inc., in New Jersey (click here to visit their website: http://ycamp.org/ ).

Founded in 1906, YMCA Camp Ockanickon, Inc. is an inter-faith, charitable association, founded on Christian principles that develop spirit, mind and body serving a broad and diverse community. Camp Ockanickon is located on 800 acres in the New Jersey Pine Barrens, and has grown from operating a summer camp solely for boys to a year-round organization offering programs to tens of thousands of children and families annually.

If you would like to make a charitable contribution to Harlon's Fund, Click on this link. https://goo.gl/ACIWzr The money will go directly to Harlon's Fund in memory of our brother and son, Harlon Morse.

Thank you,
Spencer & Laurie

A much overdue Hello to Harlon's Fund Supporters!
It's been three years since I posted here on Harlon's Fund site. I am sincerely sorry for not keeping up the momentum that I had when Harlon's Fund was launched shortly after his death. I so appreciated your contributions and support at that time.
Today I'm happy to send news that Harlon's Fund (still working with the Philadelphia Foundation and my contact there Suzette Beltz) has made a 10K donation to the Smith Memorial Playground and Playhouse in Philadelphia. I think this project really reflects Harlon's joy of being outdoors and gives children in the city
an opportunity to find respite in their urban world. Smith was at the forefront of a national playground movement, and served as a model for the importance of play for children's physical and emotional health. More info to come!
As it turns out, Spencer and I have both moved to Austin, Texas. We plan on making donations to organizations in both Philadlephia and Austin that reflect Harlon's belief that "nature heals".
I'll post a press release telling more about Smith Memorial Playground and some pictures. Thank you for your love and support!
