Penn Aces & Aros is an affinity and advocacy group for asexual and aromantic students at UPenn.

PennAces is a student organization that promotes awareness, education and safety for the asexual community in Philadelphia. Asexuality, not experiencing sexual attraction, is an orientation that is not given enough attention in our society, though 1% of the population openly identifies as asexual. Our goals are to provide a safe space for the asexual community, promote asexual inclusiveness in LGB

T spaces, and to educate mainstream America about the complexities of not simply who someone is sexually attracted to, but to what degree that sexual attraction plays in people's lives.

Welcome back everybody!

As many of you know, we have always been a group that advocates for everyone in the asexual and aromatic communities. However, we felt that it was time for "Penn Aces" to reflect that more clearly. So, here's a big announcement: we are now Penn Aces & Aros! We are so excited for our new chapter and hope that you are as well! We also want to give a huge thanks to our group members who helped us make and execute this decision. We are so proud of them and are excited to welcome even more people to our group to keep doing amazing things like this. Make sure to follow us for more big announcements!

On Thursday March 30th, 6:30-8:30pm, Penn Aces is collaborating with NeuroQueer at Penn on a Game Night! This will be a space for folks to unwind, play, hangout with friends, and meet new people. We'll have pizza, snacks, games, and the LGBT Center's comfortable lounge space to ourselves, so plan to come by!

Penn Aces is hosting an Owl House Watch Party and Discussion during Aromantic Awareness Week! We'll be in the LGBT Center's Goodhand Room from 7-8pm on Wednesday, February 22nd. If you love the Owl House or have been meaning to get into it, join us! We'll watch the carnival episode (no serious spoilers, and no background knowledge required) followed by a discussion of aromanticism and the aromantic themes we see in the show. This event is open to the entire Penn community, and there will be food provided!
