Friends of Philadelphia Trolleys

Friends of Philadelphia Trolleys Philadelphia Trolleys Donations to FPT are tax deductible. FPT plans to further its goals through membership fees, donations and by sponsoring special events.

The Friends of Philadelphia Trolleys (FPT) members are interested in Philadelphia’s history and the role that electric trolleys played in the City’s development. We are also interested preserving the historic trolleys which ran in the Philadelphia area (PTC, SEPTA and Red Arrow)

FPT is a non-profit Pennsylvania corporation. Our charter states “FPT is a non-profit group that will foster the rest

For starters, please send $35.00 for a one year’s membership to become one of the “Friends of Philadelphia Trolleys”. Tax deductible donations in any amount are also appreciated. You can make a difference by making a tax-deductible donation. Membership dues are due in April, please put you membership number on the check. New members will get their membership number when they sign up. Membership runs from July 1 to June 30

: To Philadelphia Transportation Company 8042 in service on Route 55's last weekend of operation.

This streetcar was the last one to operate on the York Road to Willow Grove line (Route 55) on September 8, 1940 and was chosen for preservation for this reason.

8042 didn’t make its way to our museum until 2005; but as of today, it is undergoing restoration to its 1953 appearance thanks to the support of our volunteers and members!

The BHA is thankful to have been able to work with Friends of Philadelphia Trolleys to make a Kawasaki charter happen in conjunction with the 2026 Philadelphia convention. Here is the group at Yeadon with car 9000.
