2026 Thomas C. Finnegan Award – Pride of Heritage Among Spectators ☘️
The Philadelphia St. Patrick’s Day Observance Association is proud to announce the 2026 recipients of the Thomas C. Finnegan Award — the Smyth Family of Havertown.
Each year, this special recognition is presented to a family or group of spectators along the parade route who best display their Irish pride, enthusiasm, and spirit while cheering on the Philadelphia St. Patrick’s Day Parade.
This past Sunday, the Smyth family showed up bringing incredible energy, pride, and celebration of their heritage to the parade route. Their spirit captured what this award represents.
Adding to the pride, Maureen Smyth, the youngest member of the Smyth family, was also inducted into the 2026 Saint Patrick’s Ring of Honor, making it an especially meaningful celebration for the entire family.
Last year’s winners, the Funchions, will proudly pass the plaque....and the title...to the Smyth family as the 2026 Thomas C. Finnegan Award honorees.
Congratulations to the Smyth family, and thank you for bringing wonderful Irish spirit to the Philadelphia St. Patrick’s Day Parade! ☘️🇮🇪
