Teach one Feed one would like to extend a very special congratulations to the first recipient of our Move-in Assistance Program Khabir Salaam.

Khabir’s commitment to his sobriety, along with the character he demonstrates and the way he carries himself truly stood out to us. It is for these reasons that he was selected for this opportunity.

As the recipient of this program, we will be covering 50% of Khabir’s move-in costs as he transitions from recovery housing into his first apartment!

In addition, we will also be furnishing his apartment to help set him up for continued success.

We’re honored to be a part of this next chapter.
Stay tuned as we document this entire process.

Congratulations again Khabir, we are so proud of you!

It’s only up from here!

Teach One Feed One’s Scholarship Program exists to honor and remember individuals we’ve lost to substance use disorder. Each scholarship is named after someone no longer with us, with recipients chosen by their families. These scholarships are presented annually on, or around, the date of their passing, each one carrying its own unique meaning. As an organization, this is one of our highest honors.

This weekend, Teach One Feed One proudly presented the Frankie Prout Scholarship to its 6th recipient, Anthony. This $500 scholarship supports housing expenses and is awarded to a male in recovery with 90 days or more of continuous sobriety. The scholarship was created to honor Frankie’s life, to keep his name alive, and to provide his family with the reassurance that his legacy continues to make a real impact.

More than anything, this scholarship is about turning loss into purpose using Frankie’s story to support others on their recovery journey for years to come.

As we shared before, these scholarships mean everything to us because we know how deeply they matter to the families behind them.

We are incredibly grateful to be connected with this family and to honor their son in such a meaningful way. March 20th will always hold a special place in our hearts and will forever be recognized as Frankie Prout Day at Teach One Feed One. 💜

Today we take a moment to remember Frankie Prout. Frankie gained his eternal wings February 5 2012, as a direct result of substance use disorder. March 20th is the day he was brought into this world. Later today we will celebrate his life and present "The Frankie Prout Scholarship" to its 6th recipient! 💜💐❤️

Teach One Feed One’s Scholarship Program was created to acknowledge and honor individuals who are no longer with us as a direct result of substance use disorder. Each scholarship carries the name of a loved one lost, and the recipient is thoughtfully chosen by the family. Every year, on the anniversary of their passing, we gather to honor their life, their legacy, and the impact they continue to have. As an organization, this is one of our greatest honors.

This weekend, we had the privilege of presenting The Ned Felici Scholarship to its 5th recipients, Gabriella and Mateo.

The Ned Felici Scholarship is a $500 scholarship awarded to children who have been impacted by substance use disorder. It was created to honor Ned’s life and ensure that his name continues to live on through purpose, opportunity, and hope.

Gabriella, who recently was accepted into Holy Family University, plans to study the arts. A beautiful path of creativity and expression as she steps into this next chapter. Mateo, currently in high school, is still exploring his future goals, and we are honored to support him as he discovers the direction that speaks to him most.

To the Felici family, please know that Ned’s name has not gone in vain. His legacy is actively impacting young lives. Because of him, doors are opening. Because of him, opportunities are being created. And because of him, hope continues to be restored. His story is being used to uplift others for years to come.

As we shared before, these scholarships mean so much to us because we understand how much they mean to the families. February 24th will forever be Ned Felici Day here at Teach One Feed One.

Teach One Feed One Scholarship Program was created to honor and remember individuals whose lives were lost to substance use disorder.

Each scholarship carries the name of a loved one no longer with us, is awarded to a recipient chosen by the family, and is presented annually on or near the date of that individual’s passing. Each scholarship holds its own unique meaning. As an organization, it is one of our greatest honors.

The Stephanie Machen Scholarship is a $500 scholarship (with a $500 match by Another day clean) presented to a female pursuing an education with 9 months, or more of clean-time.

This weekend we were honored to present the 4th annual Stephanie Machen Scholarship to its newest recipient, Michelle.

Michelle’s journey reflects perseverance, humility, and gratitude. Through hard work and commitment to her recovery, she recently moved from her recovery house into her own apartment. It’s a step that represents stability, independence, and hope for the future.

The scholarship represents SO MUCH more than financial assistance. It is a reminder that Stephanie’s life continues to make a difference. Her name lives on through acts of encouragement, support, and opportunity for others walking the path of recovery.

February 16th will always be Stephanie Machen Day here at Teach One Feed One.

On July 14th, 2022, Teach One Feed One received a message on Instagram from Tisha West of Oneida, Tennessee.

She shared the story of losing her mother to addiction and told us how deeply our mission resonated with her. She then asked if she could partner with us to host a fundraiser in her hometown of Oneida, something we were honored to be part of.

During that conversation, we presented an idea: honoring her mother through our scholarship program. After learning what it meant, she was incredibly moved and chose to move forward. That moment marked a milestone for us, our very first scholarship presented outside the state of Pennsylvania.

A few weeks ago we returned to Oneida and proudly awarded the third recipient of The Ada Baird Scholarship, Justice Duncan.

Justice’s life has been shaped by both grief and strength. Through this scholarship, he now has an opportunity to use his voice to advocate for others impacted by addiction and to remind people that hope still exists even in the hardest seasons.

The Ada Baird Scholarship is a $500 award created to support children affected by addiction. It is presented each year on the anniversary of Ada’s passing, not only to assist a deserving young person, but to keep Ada’s memory alive, bring comfort to her family, and allow her legacy to positively influence others for years to come.

Congratulations Justice, we are incredibly proud of you.

February 3rd will always be Ada Baird Day at Teach One Feed One!
