Friends of Ogden Park

After a long hiatus caused by COVID-19, we are ready to get back to work making Ogden Park the relaxing, wonderful resource it was designed to be. To jump-start the rejuvenation of the park, we're planning to meet on Saturday, October 15th at 9:30am, in the park.

The goals of this informal meeting are to restart our volunteer crews and to assess immediate and short-term projects that can be completed before winter. Leading the meeting will be two volunteers: Omar and Lydia. You do not need to RSVP -- and feel free to bring family, friends, or neighbors with you!

We're looking forward to seeing everyone and to getting to know you better!

Join us on Saturday, April 16, 2016 between 10am and 12pm and help us clean up Ogden Park. We’ll be doing our annual Spring maintenance including trash pick up, weeding, and winter debris removal. Please bring a pair of gloves and a bottle of water. We’ll supply the tools and other supplies.

Dear Friends,
The demolition of 853 N. 20th street is imminent. I spoke with the developer and he mentioned that it will begin Tuesday. Please keep an eye out for our treasured Ogden Park. Share any thoughts or concerns. We don't want another incident like the damaged tree on Uber!

A reader tipped us off the other day that a foundation has appeared at a long vacant lot at the southwest corner of Uber & Brown. This corner has been vacant for quite some time, and we understand a single family home will soon be rising here.

Dear Friends,
It has been some time since I posted so I hope everyone is well. It has come to my attention that the vacant dilapidated home bordering the North Western portion of the park will be demolished imminently. On one hand, this will be a great improvement from the eyesore that currently exists. On the other hand, this could potentially damage our beloved park. I encourage everyone to voice their concern to the FNDC and 5th district council office so that we can protect the park from damage. Take care!
