Feast of Justice

‼️‼️ Due to severe staff and volunteer shortages, in addition to significant building concerns, both Feast of Justice locations will be closed from Sunday, October 11th through Sunday, October 25th. During this time, we are pausing our operations to intentionally address these issues so we can better serve you. This means that all appointments during this time are cancelled. ‼️‼️

We apologize for the inconvenience this closure poses. Thank you for your understanding!

Hunger Action Month may be over, but our work is not done. 📣

The current version of the Farm Bill is completely unacceptable. It harms families by shifting public benefit costs to states with little time to prepare. This possibility comes at a frightening time when millions of people have already lost access to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program.

While Members of Congress are on recess throughout the next month, we must urge them to stop the SNAP cost shift to states. Use resources from the Food Research & Action Center to take action now (linked in our bio).

In September, we parntnered with TD Bank to offer FREE financial education classes to our community members in both English and Spanish. 👩‍🏫💸 Participants learned strategies for breaking the paycheck-to-paycheck cycle 🔁, had the opportunity to ask experts meaningful questions 💡, recieved giveaways 🛍️, made social connections with neighbors, 🤝, and enjoyed light refreshments ☕️.

Are you interested in attending a free financial education class with Feast of Justice and TD Bank? TD Bank offers lessons in first-time home ownership, credit card management, protecting yourself from scams, and more. Keep your eye out for more in the future! 👀

Volunteering at Feast of Justice is not only rewarding for your spirit - it’s good for your body too! 😊💪 Take it from our long-time volunteer, Jo, who uses restocking shifts as an affordable and realistic form of physical therapy.

If you want to give back to the community while also strengthening your mental and physical health, join us! We are looking for volunteers who can lift 25+ lbs and have availability on weekday mornings and afternoons. 🙌

Sign up to volunteer with us by going online to: feastofjustice.org/volunteer

Questions? Email us at: [email protected]

Over 1,000 volunteers provided over 20,000 hours of service in our Choice Cupboard annually, distributing over 2 million pounds of food. With only small team of staff, volunteers are the backbone of our organization.

We’re calling on our community to help us reach our 20th Anniversary In-Kind Giving Goal! 🥫

This fall, we’re inviting workplaces, schools, faith communities, neighborhood groups, and organizations to host a food drive for Feast of Justice.

For 20 years, generous supporters have helped keep our Choice Pantry stocked for our neighbors in Northeast Philadelphia. Help us carry that support into our 20th year by bringing your group together for a food drive.

Ready to host? Reach out to Imani Rhodriquez at [email protected] to get started!

We’re so excited to welcome Mila Kocic & Jonah Taranta, our new AmeriCorps VISTAs for 2026-27 through Hunger Free America and PHENND Fellows VISTA Program!

As Volunteer Coordinator, Mila is already building strong relationships with our wonderful volunteers! In this role, she will strengthen Feast of Justice by evaluating our needs, supporting our volunteers, and ensuring every shift is staffed with enough volunteers to feed our guests.

As Communications Coordinator, Jonah will help us celebrate our 20th anniversary by telling the story of our first 20 years, along with what we hope to accomplish in the next 20! He will also grow our outreach, communicate with volunteers, and help us discuss issues we are passionate about.

“Everybody talks about coordination of services. Everybody talks about holistic care. We’re actually doing it. One roof. Eight organizations.”

Last week, we joined our partner organizations, local leaders, and other community members in celebrating the Northeast Services Hub. 👏🎉 The Northeast Services Hub brings services together in a one-stop-shop to provide guests with accessible, holistic care. You can check out the NBC10 coverage using the link in our bio! 🔗

20TH OF THE MONTH | CELEBRATING OUR LEADERSHIP TEAM ⭐️

As we celebrate 20 years of Feast of Justice, we're taking the 20th of each month to recognize the people and groups who have helped make our work possible. This month, we're celebrating the people who help keep Feast of Justice moving! From leading the organization and advocating for our neighbors, building relationships, and making sure food reaches our guests to managing data, coordinating our Senior Box Program, and everything in between, our leadership team touches nearly every part of our work.

These lovely individuals are the backbone of our organization, making sure the work gets done, the details don't get lost, and our mission continues to move forward. We are incredibly grateful for the knowledge, care, creativity, and commitment they bring to Feast of Justice each day!
