20TH OF THE MONTH | CELEBRATING OUR SUMMER WORKFORCE ☀️🎉

As we celebrate 20 years of Feast of Justice, we're taking the 20th of each month to recognize the people and groups who have helped make our work possible. We're kicking things off by celebrating the incredible groups who spent part of their summer serving alongside us. From sorting and stocking food to helping guests and keeping our pantry running, these volunteers showed up and gave their time to support our neighbors. We are so grateful for our Summer VISTAs, PYNterns, and every volunteer that chose to spend their summer with Feast of Justice!

Looking for a meaningful way to give back? Volunteer with Feast of Justice!

Every week, our volunteers help us provide food and support to neighbors in our community. Whether you can join us once or become a regular volunteer, your time makes a real difference.

Our greatest volunteer needs are:

• Saturdays: 10:00 AM–2:30 PM

A HUGE thank you to our partners for the Donation Drive they organized for our Feast of Justice community!

During the week of July 20, Chapman Ford of Northeast Philadelphia collected a large truck load of food and personal hygiene items from the community for our FoJ guests in their show room, totaling 784 pounds! This made a big difference for our guests, and we are happy to be partnered with Chapman Ford in the effort against food insecurity!

July’s featured product was avocados! 🥑 Throughout the month, we conducted tastings, gave away avocados, and shared recipes. We learned a lot from our volunteers and guests in the process... including a fun recipe for avocado ice cream! 🍨

When avocados aren’t in perfect condition, there are still plenty of ways to use them:

🥤Overripe avocados can be added to smoothies to create a creamy texture. They can also replace butter or oil in baked goods.

🍌Underripe avocados can be placed in a brown paper bag along with a banana. This will speed up the ripening process, ensuring that your fruit is ready in just a few days!

Being creative with avocados is worth it because adding them to your diet is incredibly beneficial to your health.

Next month, our Product of the Month is zucchinis! 🥒 Check out our Nutrition Board on site at Tyson for free recipes and produce cards. Look for zucchinis when you shop with us and keep an eye out for tastings in our waiting area! There are even zucchinis growing in our community garden! 👀

A huge thank you to everyone who supported our Wendy's Fundraiser as part of Feast of Justice's 20th Anniversary celebration! 🎉🍔

Together, our supporters spent $356.98 at Wendy's during the fundraiser, which means $71.40 was donated back to Feast of Justice to support our mission.
We're so grateful to everyone who stopped by, spread the word, and celebrated with us. Every meal purchased helped make a difference, and we're thankful to have such an amazing community standing behind Feast of Justice.

Here's to 20 years of serving our neighbors—and many more to come! 💙
