The Pennsylvania Immigration and Citizenship Coalition (PICC) is a diverse group that brings together professionals, advocates and immigrant groups of different backgrounds to share information and resources, identify common problems, and advocate for solutions. Our membership includes community groups, legal service providers, social service providers, healthcare organizations, mutual assistance associations, immigrant leaders, unions, faith communities, and concerned individuals. We believe that immigrants, refugees and other new Americans make significant contributions to our nation, state, region, and our local communities. They pay taxes in our local economy, revitalize neighborhoods as renters and home owners, consumers and business owners, and bring a rich cultural diversity.

Almost a year ago, Constance was detained while going through immigration at the Philadelphia Airport and taken to Moshannon Valley Detention Center, separated from her loved ones, her job, and her mother, for whom she is the primary caregiver.
Her loved ones are raising funds to support Constance’s fight for freedom and family.

Here in Pennsylvania Governor Shapiro has a responsibility to act.

Protecting children means protecting the families and communities they depend on. We cannot oppose the detention of children while accepting the detention, separation, or criminalization of their parents and loved ones.

Dauphin County should work for all of its residents — not ICE.

We’re calling on the County Commissioners to pass a Welcoming County Law that ends collaboration with ICE and ensures real language access for immigrant families.

There’s no reason our local tax dollars should be helping ICE rip people out of their communities.

There’s enough evidence that exists that we have reason to believe that the Department of Homeland Security is planning to purchase the Moshannon Detention Center from GEO Group, something that would be further waste of our tax payer money, a loss of property taxes to Clearfield County, and would make an already dangerous situation to immigrants held there even more dangerous.

We demand that the Clearfield county commissioners vote no on any contract extensions with GEO Group and DHS.

We demand that the Department of Homeland Security release those detained in the Moshannon Detention Center.
