How many of us can say, we are living our dream life? As a child, this was the image of Africa that stayed in my heart. Whenever I saw a picture like it, I felt like I was being called home. At 7 years old, I told my mom that when I grew up I was going to feed people in Africa! As the years passed, I supported projects in Senegal, Gambia, South Africa, Liberia, Ethiopia, Kenya, Nigeria, and Ghana. However, my heart was drawn to Sierra Leone.

July marks 10 years of me living and working in Sierra Leone. It has been a journey filled with joy and sadness, but I have never regretted my decision. Sierra Leone truly has become home. I have met some of the most amazing people. I helped others, learned, loved, and overcame what at times seemed like insurmountable challenges. To quote Celie from The Color Purple, "I am Here"! Best of all, I am still in love with this work and full of hope for the land we call Africa and Sierra Leone.

Thank you to everyone that has helped me along the journey. I truly am living my dreams!
