🔧👩‍🏫 Today we stood with Katherine Gilmore Richardson, Tony Watlington, Philadelphia Federation of Teachers (PFT Local 3) President Arthur Steinberg, and Benjamin Franklin High School to announce a $75,000 investment in the District’s CTE Teacher Training Program.

This funding, from our Teacher Appreciation Fund, makes sure Philadelphia CTE educators already enrolled in credentialing coursework can finish what they started with no interruptions, because the best classroom is one led by a teacher who has everything they need to be there. 🔔

🔧👩‍🏫 Today The Fund for the School District of Philadelphia joined Majority Leader Councilmember Katherine Gilmore Richardson, The School District of Philadelphia Superintendent Dr. Tony B. Watlington Sr., Philadelphia Federation of Teachers President Arthur G. Steinberg, and the team at Benjamin Franklin High School to announce our $75,000 investment in the District’s CTE Teacher Training Program.

Philadelphia's CTE programs span 43 occupational areas, taught by instructors who bring real industry experience into the classroom. This investment, made through our Teacher Appreciation Fund, ensures CTE teachers already enrolled in credentialing coursework can finish the program they started.

"Every student in Philadelphia deserves a teacher who can bring real, hands-on industry experience into the classroom, and every teacher who signs up to do that work deserves the support to see it through," said Fund President & CEO Kathryn Epps.

🛋️ Earlier in the new school year, we joined our friends at Joseph Pennell Elementary School for the unveiling of their new sensory room, made possible with a grant from our partners at The McLean Contributionship which supports projects that promote education and motivate young people to achieve despite social, economic and development obstacles.

Sensory rooms in our schools provide dedicated, controlled environments that help students regulate their nervous systems, reduce anxiety, and improve academic focus 🌟. Congratulations to our team for securing the funds to make this possible for Pennell students.
