Philly Q***r Brunch is a monthly Philly potluck that raises funds for grassroots organizations doing the hard and chronically underfunded work of q***r and trans justice! Each month's brunch supports a different organization--mostly local to the Philadelphia area, but some doing radical work across the country. PQB aims to center the voices and experiences of q***r and trans women and non-binary/n
on-conforming folk, but we invite ALL to join us for fun, food, and community-building. PQB is also a space for collaborative, low-fi arts and crafts! Each month, on theme with the organization we are supporting, we work together to produce some form of creative project. In the past, PQB has produced a series of zines (topics include reproductive justice, q***r health & wellness, education, s*x work and harm reduction, and q***r family), created and sent holiday cards to our q***r & trans community members who are incarcerated (through Black and Pink), and assembled posters to carry and distribute at the March and the March to End R**e Culture in Philadelphia. If you have ideas for a collaborative project, please let us know!! PQB is committed to remaining financially accessible to everyone who wants to build community with us, so while we typically suggest that folks bring "$10-20 to donate, and a dish or drink to share," we hope that folks for whom that amount isn't feasible will join us at brunch regardless and enjoy the food and love! In the past, PQB has supported the following INCREDIBLE organizations and projects:
January 2017: LGBT Center of Central PA
February 2017: Caucus of Working Educators
September 2017: The March to End R**e Culture
October 2017: Hurricane Maria Community Recovery Fund
