Thanks to Captain Felipe Langcauon of the LPG tanker STIKLESTAD for this picture of himself (on the right) enjoying a cheesesteak with SCI's Steve Anderson. Steve and the Captain took a few minutes off for a visit to Tony & Nick's when the ship was at Marcus Hook last month.

SEABOARD EXPLORER SHOPPING EXPEDITIONS

Two crews from the container ship SEABOARD EXPLORER (Gloucester Marine Terminal) got a chance for back-to-back shopping trips thanks to ship visitors John Mc Creavy and Alysia Goyer.

Loading and unloading container ships is so efficient that they generally have limited time in port, and crew members are super busy. On this day we ran 5 seafarers over to Gloucester Premium Outlets and then came back to pick up 7 more for a quick trip to Best Buy and Walmart in South Philadelphia.

SCI is delighted to welcome Assistant Professor Alysia Goyer of Stockton University. Prof. Goyer, from the Mathematics and First Year Studies program, will be assisting the SCI ship visitor team with their full range of responsibilities over the 2026 summer.

Prof. Goyer brings exceptional enthusiasm and compassion in serving the region's seafarers, while at the same time enjoying the opportunity to witness firsthand international shipping operations.
