Anthony C. Richardson - Lee Legacy
Anthony C. Richardson Lee was born on October 9. 1987. He was the second of four children. He attended the Philadelphia Public School System where he graduated in 2006 from Furness High School. Anthony was awarded with the “Student of the Year” award along with other academic achievements at graduation. Anthony loved working with the young and visited the Youth Study Center often. His passion to become a lawyer placed him at Cheyney University, where he majored in Criminal Justice. He was a devoted member of the SGA, Residential Council, and the Cheyney University Committee. Anthony was inducted into the brotherhood of the Alpha Phi Alpha on November 6, 2007. Anthony passed away his sophomore year in college of cancer. Cheyney University awarded Anthony with his honorary degree in May of 2010.
Juvenile Justice
The Mission
Guiding Stars’ Juvenile Justice Department promotes awareness on delinquent issues. Our mission is to ensure juveniles have the equal opportunities they deserve by addressing and deciphering matters that youth are approached with on a daily basis. We encourage education, self-respect, individualism, and healthy living, which include staying free of drugs and alcohol. We discourage bullying, criminal activities, and anything that hinder their success. We want our stars to be adequate with social and life skills so they can become an overachiever in society.
The Vision
To empower juveniles by educating them on how to cope with school, peers, family, social media, as well as drugs and alcohol.
Health and Fitness
The Mission
Guiding Stars’ Health and Fitness Department is empowering the inner-city youth by building healthy lifestyles that support a balance between fitness and nutrition. Our mission is to tackle childhood obesity through education and fun. We want our stars to make responsible decisions from sugar intake to staying active daily.
The Vision
Our vision is to equip our youth with knowledge on healthier lifestyles that they can carry into their adulthood.
S*x Education
The Mission
Guiding Stars’ S*x Education Department encourages abstinence. Our mission is to educate adolescence on peer pressure and how to make safe and responsible decision. We want to lessen the statistics on teen pregnancies and STD’s. These teachings will be provided through videos, presentations and visual aides. We believe it is absolutely necessary to teach strong values to help our stars to prevent any life altering experiences.

Our vision is to encourage our youth to choose abstinence while educating them on responsible decision make.
College Connect
The Mission
Our mission is to assist the youth between the ages of 16 and 19 in preparing them for life after high school. We assist them with everything from SAT testing, completing FAFSA and college applications. We encourage them to obtain good grade, good attendance, and to participate in extra curriculum activities. We also encourage them to take advantage of college tours to get a better understanding of this life transition. We support all of our stars.
