Did you know one teaspoon of winter salt pollutes five gallons of water forever? And when salt concentrations reach a critical level, aquatic life in our streams, lakes, and rivers struggle. That’s why Stroud Water Research Center is encouraging everyone to Cut the Salt this winter season by testing local waterways with our free Freshwater Test Kit and utilizing alternative methods for safely removing snow and ice.

Hey gang, over the weekend, the neighborhood welcomed over 25 new trees and shrubs following years of growth at the nursery, painstaking transportation, and hard work by neighborhood volunteers.

Please let us have nice things by not allowing our doggo friends trample, p*e (mark) on the roots and trunks of these young saplings, who are attempting to re-establish their root systems while recovering from transplant shock.

Protecting the critical root zone of a tree is critical to maintaining the trees that we have, otherwise we are trapped in a losing cycle of swapping mature trees for saplings.

Do You Want A Free Street Tree? Applications are accepted on a rolling basis. Fall Street Tree applications are usually due in April & applications for the Spring Street Tree Planting are usually due in November.
