The Progressive Thinkers Forum exists to bring together leaders in Philadelphia's progressive community and to give them access to experts on different key issues. "It seems to me that traditional 'liberals' in our current parlance are those who focus on using taxpayer money to help better society. The term has also been used to cover certain ideas, attitudes, movements and schools of thought. It has been affixed to leading American politicians, in both major parties, including Teddy Roosevelt.

If you're serious about gender equality, then get serious about climate change.
"Extreme weather events kill more women than men globally – the more extreme, the bigger the gender gap. Among the 150,000 people killed by the 1991 Bangladesh cyclone, 90% were women."

Climate change isn't gender-neutral. The effects are likely to hit the world's poorest women hardest of all, because they are more likely to lack the resources to escape natural disasters or disease.
