Created by Mural Arts Philadelphia with the support of Councilman Bobby Henon, The Tacony LAB Community Arts Center brings the neighborhood and the arts together to create a unique hub for learning, creativity, and community engagement in Lower Northeast Philadelphia. The LAB offers free art classes for adults and youth, presents arts-focused events, and develops public art through its “artist-in-

residence” program. The artist-in-residence program anchors professional artists in the Tacony community by providing them with studio space at the LAB. During their residencies, the artists work with the community to develop public art in Tacony, as well as use the studio to create their own artwork. 🚨 Threads of History Event 🚨

Join us this Saturday May 30th at the Frankford Boat Launch (5501 Tacony St) for FISH FEST!! One of our favorite festivals is back and this year we’re turning our table into a Threads of History Event. We’ll have wooden etched sea creatures for paper rubbings, along with our cyanotypes and block prints! This weekend will be BEAUTIFUL and the perfect backdrop for this annual fest 🐟🐠🎣

We’re kicking off market season on June 5th with our first market of the year! As always vendors can apply for FREE to sell their work! This is a perfect market for first time vendors, teens, and those getting back into the swing of markets. Check our story highlights for our Google form application!

We’re back at this weekend with another Threads of History event! Join teaching artist .makes.things for a cross stitch workshop and work with LAB staff to help contribute to our cyanotype community flag series! We invite all participants to make a block print to adorn the cyanotypes and view the first group of flags pieced together from past events!
