Greetings Again:
It's been quite a while since I've communicated with you, and for that I apologize. I have had quite a time of it, dealing with health issues, family concerns and organizational transition. All of it in my efforts to "get it right".
Now I come to you addressing this madness of violence that is happening in our city (and in many other major cities), this gun craze period that is taking the lives of so many of our people. Just what the heck is happening? Why in the world has this been increased in such a manner? and What the heck are we doing about it?
Yes I said "WE", not the police, not the social worker, not the mayor, but WE, those of us in the community. We "the people" who are the main target of this violence, what are we doing? Are we afraid to face those whom we believe are the shooters? Are we silent because we don't want to get involved? Or, are we really that naive thinking that "IT DOESN'T CONCERN ME"?
At any rate, I just wanted to mention that YOU have the power to make a difference. YOU can be effective in stopping this nonsense, if only you try. Now granted, you may not know exactly what to do, and if that is the case, then maybe the beginning of this starts with us communicating and asking the question: "WHAT CAN I DO?". How about it, let's start with that. I look forward to hearing from you, asking what can you do, okay?

Insha'Allah we need to do what we can to assist this brother.

It is nearing the end of this Month (October) soon to be November, then 2017 will be at an end. I propose that we focus on 2018 to actually "do something". I will once again offer an idea of what we can do, to possibly establish another forum, or something to bring us together towards ending racism, ageism, and other means of destroying the minds of our young, and the ailments of this society. STAY TUNED!!!!!

Greetings Comrades.
Once again I'm speaking with you hoping that we can create some movement with this Prison Advocacy. I know that there is a lot of actions (on many fronts) addressing the criminal unjustice system, and the resentencing hearings for those who were given life as juveniles. However, we need to create an opportunity for people who may not be part of a movement, organization, etc. to get new information, and find out where they fit in this struggle.
In my opinion, this is why it is some important to attempt to have another Prison Advocacy Summit in the very near future.
I need to hear from you in reference to this. I just saw that over 140 people have visited this page, and I'm pretty sure that some "organizers" are among that 140. So, I'm asking you to HELP ME!!!!! get this going, okay?

Hello Again:
It's me, Hakim Ali, continuing to seek your assistance in making something happen. I recently read a post from Reuben Jones, stating that we need to stop talking and start working. He said that "plans already exist" to address the needs of our people, our community, our nation. I'm asking those of you who know Reuben, and those who agree that its "TIME TO ACT!!!", respond to this post and lets begin to take the initiative, and do what is necessary to make this happen.
Thanks for your patience, now its time for your resolve!!!!!

I just checked the site, after a somewhat lengthy absence, and looked at some of the site's information. It appears that MORE women views our site than men.
I wonder if that's because there are more women in the community, and thus have more loved ones locked up, thus they are reaching out to any place that they believe can be of assistance? Just a thought.
Secondly, I think its about time to attempt to have another SUMMIT, don't you?
Send some ideas on how this can happen. Lets start a real dialog about mending some fences, creating some unity amongs organizations and finding ways to support the families of those incarcerated. I'm game, are you

I want to share something that has been weighing on me for sometime.
One of my comrades, someone I have known for YEARS, and have met with, worked with, attended events with, sat on the same panel(s) with, etc. has been very upset with me for a while. His reason is that he believes that "I DID NOT COMPLETE MY TASK (a task related to The Prisoner Advocacy Summit) AND RECEIVED PAYMENT FOR THE TASK.
I WANT TO SAY NOW THAT "I DID ALL I COULD TOWARD THIS TASK", I EVEN SOUGHT ADVICE ON HOW TO MAKE IT HAPPEN, AND IN A FEW DAYS (or maybe a week or so) I WILL ATTEMPT TO AGAIN DO WHAT HE BELIEVES SHOULD HAVE BEEN DONE.
I RESPECT THIS INDIVIDUAL, HE HAS BEEN IN THIS FIGHT FOR A LONG TIME. I KNOW OF SITUATIONS AND INDIVIDUALS WHOM HE HAS HELPED, AND THEY TOO ADMIRE HIM AND HIS WORK.
I CAN NOT ANY LONGER CONTINUE WITH HIM NOT COMMUNICATING WITH ME, NOR SUPPORTING THE WORK THAT I DO....
I PRAY THAT HE CHECK OUT THIS PAGE EVERY NOW AND THEN, AND HOPEFULLY HE'LL SEE THAT I AM STILL ATTEMPTING TO KEEP THIS ACTION, THIS EFFORT, THIS UNIFYING FORCE ALIVE.
Thanks for listening...Hakim 'Ali

Greetings All:
It is good to see that our page is visited as often as it is. I realize that no new progress has been made in reference to the actual SUMMIT, but there is "interest" in this endeavor, and perhaps in the very near future, we can come together (even if its just via this page) and produce a means of moving forward.
I am very much interested in your responses to this post.
REMEMBER, NOTHING COMES TO THOSE WHO WAIT FOR PROGRESS, PROGRESS IS GAINED BY ACTION, NOT SITTING ON THE SIDE!!!
Thanks,
Hakim 'Ali

Greetings:
I have seen several new "likes" to our page and this effort to bring liked minded people TOGETHER!!! But what is obvious is that we need help. We need you to do more than "like" the page, but give us some ideas on how to increase contributions and ideas on how to engage more people.
So, when you like the page again, share your views with us. We had a good run several years ago, and there were many people and organizations involved to put this Summit together, but because of many other obligations, most of them could not continue organizing and/or helping to take the "next step" following the summit...I am still trying to move this along, or at the very least keep you informed that WE NEED YOUR HELP!
Thanks for listening

Greetings Again:
It has been quite a while since I have posted any comments, questions and/or information to the cite, and for that I apologize. There are many reasons for this absence, but none would be sufficient to cover the time missed in communicating with you.
So, lets try to start again. I will be sending out requests for posts, comments, advice and information so that this site and the original ideas that were created back in 2011 can finally begin to bear fruit.
Thanks for your patience, and continue to fight the good fight.

[The below letter was sent to Reconstruction, Inc. from Terrance 'Terry' Williams AY-3626, at the end of 2012]

TERRY'S 2012 CHRISTMAS LETTER
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! I send my best and warmest love to you. I wish you good health, wealth and happiness. A wonderful gift would be to spend this holiday season with you. So, in lieu of my physical presence, I ask you to have thoughts of me while you celebrate and to dedicate a piece of pie, a glass of wine, or say a prayer for me as you happily enjoy time with your family and friends. While I sit in this place that's empty of all warmth and cheer, my spirit and thoughts wil be where you are.
I am thank for the love, support and hard work my Dream Legal Team did to save my life. I honored them with a plaque that signifies my appreciation for their efforts which no words or gift could really capture my gratitude. Well, let me check that, I'm sure gifts of Chrysler 300, Cadillacs or Prius would convey my gratitude just fine for you. Thanks you again, dream team. I'm happy that some of my childhood friends reached out and signed the petition, some of my cousins came back into my life and friends stepped up to tell the world they write to and are friends with, a death row prisoner that they love and care about. It made me feel I was no longer a direty little secret in their lives.
I'm grateful for the Judge's extraordinary opinion and I remain hopeful for a favorable appellate result. I'm extremely happy to have a wonderful daughter who is as delicate as the most precious and sensitive flower, and has a heart of gold. Tyra, a lovely princess such as you is worthy of only the best that life has to offer. You are the Princess of my heart's Kingdom.
Truthfully, I feel very fortunate to have every person who gets this special letter, as my family. I validate my existence by the people that love and care about me, and I them. I hope you continue to be part of my life and allow me to share in yours. That will bring me, and I hope you, the greatest joy.
AGAIN, MERRY CHRISTMAS & HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Love, Terry.
