The ASCE Philly YMF is a group of young civil engineers who are dedicated to interacting with students and the general public to promote civil engineering.

The ASCE Philadelphia YMF invites you to explore the evolution of urban wastewater engineering with a guided tour of PWD's Southwest Water Pollution Control Plant (SWPCP). Engineers will also gain perspective on the plant operations and considerations for the design and construction of large-scale projects.

This tour is not ADA accessible. Accessible by public transit via 68 Bus to Fort Mifflin Rd & Enterprise Ave. Closed-toe shoes and long pants required. Vests and hard hats are optional. We anticjpate 1 PDH will be awarded for attendance. Lunch will be provided to attendees. Additional details regarding the site and parking are provided on the registration page.

On June 17, we joined American Society of Highway Engineers (ASHE) - Delaware Valley Section YMC, MASITE (Mid-Atlantic Section of Institute of Transportation Engineers, and Young Professionals in Transportation (YPT) - Philadelphia to host the 3rd annual Kickball Tournament and Summer Picnic. About 30 young engineers gathered for a day filled with fun, kickball, and networking. Thank you to leaders in each organization for orchestrating this summer event that has become one we look forward to every year!

PhilaPort, also known as the Port of Philadelphia, stands as the fastest growing container port along the U.S. East Coast. This tour will offer an overview of its facilities, focusing on the terminals where ships are loaded and unloaded, as well as a glimpse into design and construction projects. If we are lucky, we may even see a ship! This tour includes a 30-minute presentation at PhilaPort’s main office (3460 N Delaware Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19134), followed by a 2-hour round trip bus tour. Attendees will have access to the office’s restrooms during the presentation; however, the tour bus does not have a restroom and it is not ADA accessible. Attendees must have a valid ID. The tour will be followed by a social hour with food/beverages courtesy of Philly YMF at Gaul & Co. Malt House Port Richmond. This event has a 20 person maximum capacity.

Tour is accessible by public transit via SEPTA Bus Routes 25, 60, and 73, and the G1 trolley. Free parking is available in front of the office and along Delaware Avenue.

Join the ASCE Philly YMF, ASHE DelVal YMC, YPT Philadelphia, and MASITE for a kickball tournament at Fairmount Park! Whether you’d like to play for your organization or just show up for the food and to network, Fairmount Park is the place to be! Lawn games, food, and non-alcoholic beverages will be provided. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs and refreshments. Please wear a white shirt. We will provide colored pinnies for team identification. In case of inclement weather, the rain date is Wednesday, June 18th.

⏪️Event Recap ⏪️ Adopt-a-Highway with ASHE Del Val

On Saturday, May 3rd, twelve (12) members of ASHE Del Val and the ASCE Philly YMF teamed up once again to clean up litter along our nearly 2-mile stretch of Bethlehem Pike in Ambler, PA. After the cleanup, volunteers had a chance to reconnect and enjoy lunch together at Fireside Bar and Grill. Thank you to all the volunteers who came out and contributed their time and effort to help keep our community clean!

The YMF calls on its members each year to serve on the YMF Board. Current positions, excluding the Executive Board, are appointed by the current, past, and incoming YMF President. Every effort is made to give motivated individuals roles aligning with their passion. A list of positions from this past year and brief descriptions can be accessed here.
