PABJ Founded in 1974, PABJ is the nation’s oldest organization dedicated to the development of Black journalists.

The goal is to empower our members to be leaders in their newsrooms and to empower the community with better access to the media and information. To that end, our focus will be in four key areas: (i) media training, (ii) community engagement, (iii) increased fundraising; and (iv) better communication with PABJ members and the wider community.
