A new autobiographical work by the biologist Bernard R. Grad (1920 - 2010) has just been published. Grad began studying with Wilhelm Reich in 1949 and last saw him at his trial in 1956. In experiments he found a significant effect of the orgone energy accumulator in reducing the incidence of lymphatic leukemia in a strain of mice bred to contract the disease. He also conducted novel experiments on the orgone accumulator temperature difference. When he replicated Reich's bion Experiment XX, he found previously unknown cell-like structures, eventually learning how to obtain them from known substances. After Reich's death, he conducted an extensive and pioneering series of double-blind studies of the effects of healing by laying-on of hands which showed accelerated wound healing in mice, a reduction in the size of goiters in mice, and increased plant growth.
As a young biologist, Grad met Wilhelm Reich in 1949. As he developed his research program on the biochemistry of aging, he studied with Reich, conducting experimental studies of physical & biological effects of the orgone energy accumulator. He also replicated Reich’s bion Experiment XX, &...
