Out across our region today, Local 19 members are putting in the work.

From South Philadelphia to Roxborough, our members are proudly walking side by side with IUPAT DC 21, talking to voters and standing up for candidates who stand with working people.

In Philadelphia’s Congressional District 3, we’re supporting Sharif Street — a longtime ally to labor who has always fought for workers, strong standards, and fair opportunities in our industry.

In Delaware County’s 166th District, members are knocking doors for Judy Trombetta, a leader who understands the importance of responsible contracting, protecting taxpayers, and ensuring public projects are completed by skilled, qualified contractors.

And in West Chester’s 5th Ward, we’re proud to support Local 19’s own Mike Dougherty Jr. in his run for Democratic Committee Person — because building political strength starts at the local level.

Solidarity is more than a slogan. It’s showing up, putting in the effort, and standing together.

As with every year, Sheet Metal Workers’ Local 19 is honored to be the host for the spring and fall City Democratic Comittee events. From members of Congress, to the Mayor, to Committee people from throughout the city. It is always great to see everyone and connect before the end of the election cycle.

This night was all about ensuring Sharif Street makes it through the finish line in the 3rd Congressional District. Mayor Parker gave a passionate speech about ensuring someone who is connected with all the people of the 3rd district, not just one group. And Sharif is the candidate who checks that important box. And Local 19 couldn’t agree more!

Boots on the ground across the region today.

From South Philadelphia to Roxborough, Local 19 members are out shoulder to shoulder with IUPAT DC 21!

In Philadelphia, we’re proud to support Sharif Street for Congressional District 3, a proven advocate who has consistently stood with workers and fought for fair standards in our industry.

Out in Delaware County, our members are hitting the streets in the 166th District for Judy Trombetta. Judy has built a reputation on doing the work the right way, protecting taxpayers while making sure public projects are done by qualified, responsible contractors.

And in West Chester’s 5th Ward, we’re backing one of our own, Mike Dougherty Jr. as he runs for Committee Person in the Democratic Committee. This is how we build strength from the ground up.

This morning, Local 19 hosted an engaging and informative Fire Life Safety presentation for members and contractors, led by Area Representative Phil Montuori of the National Energy Management Institute. The session covered key statutes and evolving requirements across the Philadelphia, New Jersey, and Delaware markets—providing valuable insight into a critical and growing sector of our industry.

The event was emceed by Local 19 President/Business Manager Bryan Bush, helping guide a strong discussion and bringing members and contractors together around the importance of staying ahead in Fire/smoke Damper and Smoke Control inspections and maintenance.
