Thank you to everyone who attended and supported our 22nd Annual Kidney Open Golf Outing!

Beautiful weather, a great round of golf, and our amazing community helped to make another successful year at the DuPont Country Club!

Thank you especially to our presenting sponsor, Venture Jets, and all of our sponsors, volunteers, and golfers who support this event year after year. With their help, we were able to raise over $123,000 for transplant patients and their families!

We are so grateful to have continued this special tradition that began 22 years ago. Thank you to our hosts, Dan Sinnott, Rick Hasz, and Howard Nathan, and again to all of our community for making this event possible!

"Howie's House was such a blessing for us."

Watch Marshall and Cathie ring the Chimes of Hope to celebrate going home after Marshall received his life-saving lung transplant! The couple are from over 3 hours away in Binghamton, NY and relied on the House as a safe place for Cathie to stay to be close to Marshall during his transplant and recovery.

The couple are happy to be going home, but will be back soon for follow-up appointments and say they already are looking forward to seeing the community of friends they found at the House!

"We have been blessed to be able to stay at and support the House and we celebrate its success! Our support to the House as monthly contributors and Home Cook Heroes are just two of the ways we offer support. Planned giving is a blessing to be able to help others during transplant days and into the future." - Jim and Karen Carns

Jim and Karen Carn's connection to the House began back in 2012 when Jim received a lifesaving lung transplant. More than 10 years later, when he needed a second transplant, the Carns family once again turned to the House for lodging, care and support.

As members of our Legacy Society, the Carns family has made the House a part of their lasting legacy. In honor of our 15th anniversary, you can also make a planned gift to the House and support the next 15 years of care for transplant patients and their families.

August is . Learn more about joining the Legacy Society, and how you can create or update your will in as little as 20 minutes with our partner, FreeWill, by clicking here: https://ow.ly/akeS50ZzZTL

Gift of Life Howie’s House would like to extend a huge thanks to Janet Loftus and the entire Loftus family for raising over $8,000 during the 5th Annual Mathew’s Mission Annual Classic Car Show.

In December 2021, Mathew Loftus lost his life in a car accident at 17 years old. He has helped five people live happier, healthier lives by donating his heart, pancreas, kidneys, liver, and lungs.

This incredible fundraiser, sponsored by Rat Pack Car Club, has raised over $32,000 for Gift of Life since it began in 2021!

We are deeply grateful for their continued generosity and support. 💚

Our pantry needs your help! 🛒

With the recent unprecedented occupancy at House, our pantry shelves are going through supplies quickly — and we need donations now to keep them stocked.

You can help by purchasing much-needed pantry staples directly from our Amazon wish-list, or by coordinating a drop-off of items at the House by calling our front desk at 267-546-9800! Every item makes a difference for transplant patients and caregivers who rely on the House during an incredibly challenging time.

August is National Minority Donor Awareness Month, and we join Gift of Life Donor Program in spreading awareness about organ donation and and working to increase registrations among communities of color, which make up 60 percent of the more than 100,000 people on the national transplant waitlist.

Keath Gerald, a past guest at the House, received his second chance at life because of an organ donor hero, and was able to return to school and now watch his daughter grow up. Check out his story and be sure to register as an organ donor today to help save lives. donors1.org/register
