YWI Founding Members have been hard at work finalizing program details and building out the infrastructure for future general members!

Part of these preparations include exploring different strategies for leveraging philanthropy to advance gender equity.

Here some of our Founding Members are featured participating in a training about equity in grantmaking led by WOMEN'S WAY Chief Disruptor Diane Cornman-Levy and Chief Operating Officer Jessica Muslin.

While our Founding Membership goal has been reached, the YWI Philanthropic Community will open for general membership in the new year!

We’re just 2 days away from our FREE screening of THE GLORIA! PROJECT!

Celebrate LGBTQ+ History Month with WOMEN’S WAY this Wednesday, 10/21 for a community screening and conversation featuring some of Philadelphia’s most active LGBTQ+ leaders.

Celebrate this LGBTQ+ History Month with a Community Screening!

Join WOMEN’S WAY, Big Picture Alliance, and Kelly Burkhardt Media as we convene for a FREE screening of THE GLORIA! PROJECT on October 21 from 6–8 p.m.!

This short documentary explores the life and legacy of Gloria Casarez, a q***r Latinx civil rights leader who grew up in Philadelphia and served as the city’s first Director of LGBT Affairs.

Post screening, we’ll hear from a panel of LGBTQIA+ community leaders who will reflect on Philadelphia’s LGBTQ+ history, the movements that shaped our city, and how Gloria’s legacy continues to inform the work ahead.

As we celebrate WOMEN’S WAY’s 50th Anniversary, we’re excited to continue a tradition established nearly two decades ago in honor of Ernesta Drinker Ballard, a WOMEN’S WAY founder and our first Board president.

Every year, the Book Prize is presented to an author or co-authors whose contributions are advancing the dialogue on gender equity.

This year, we’re thrilled to announce that our 18th Annual Book Prize honoree is economist and author Anna Gifty Opoku-Agyeman for her new book, "The Double Tax: How Women of Color Are Overcharged and Underpaid."

In "The Double Tax," Anna Gifty shows how women face a "double tax" of unpaid labor, caregiving responsibilities, workplace inequities, and structural barriers that limit wealth-building opportunities. Accessible and solutions-oriented, she reframes economic justice through a gender lens and calls for systemic changes that recognize and value women's labor and contributions.

Join us on Nov. 12th at 5:30 PM for a virtual fireside chat with Anna Gifty and Kelly Sheard, Chief Strategy Officer at WOMEN'S WAY. The conversation will be followed by time for a live Q&A with the audience.

Thank you so much to everyone who joined us for the 5th Annual Gender Wealth Summit this past Friday.

We're still taking in the inspiring perspectives shared by our Mindset to Movement Leadership panel, teachings from the three workshops, and amazing reflections from all the attendees about how we can set in motion systemic change for gender equity in our region.

What's being reported at Cornell is a horrifying example of how gender-based violence is perpetuated through institutions when violence is minimized, hidden, or dismissed.

We must believe survivors, and institutions must be held accountable. We must change the systems that let harm happen.

Achieving gender equity means designing a future where women and all marginalized genders can live with security, dignity, freedom, and joy. That includes freedom from gender-based violence in our communities.

We need systemic change for gender equity now.

Looking to take action locally in the global fight to end gender-based violence? Follow WOAR - Philadelphia Center Against Sexual Violence, a Philadelphia-region nonprofit working to support survivors and end sexual violence.
