WOMEN'S WAY was proud to support Independence Business Alliance's Business Leaders Luncheon earlier this week as both members and sponsors.

Our Chief Operating Officer, Jess Muslin, attended alongside our grantee partner, Prevention Meets Fashion.

What a wonderful time connecting with so many others (including Jasper Liem from The Attic Youth Center, another grantee partner, featured in the photo) while celebrating IBA's work to support LGBTQ+ businesses, professionals, and allies across the Greater Philadelphia region.

Congratulations to IBA on such a successful and special event! 🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍🌈

Were you a part of the Young Women's Initiative (YWI)? It's starting a new chapter, and we'd love for you to be a part of it!

As we celebrate our 50th Anniversary, YWI is evolving into the YWI Philanthropic Community: a group of 21-45 year-olds dedicated to investing in the future of gender equity and fostering the next generation of philanthropists and movement leaders in our region.

You can help shape the next chapter of YWI by making a gift to our 50th Anniversary Fund. Your support ensures that this legacy of leadership and community continues to grow!

Nothing warms our hearts more than getting major life updates from our Fellows!

Last month, Ciara Douglas graduated from the Community College of Philadelphia with honors and scholarships to 3 colleges!

Ciara shared these kind words with us: "Thank you all so much for your encouragement and your support throughout the years. You are my family forever.”

The feeling is so very mutual!

Celebrating Pride month is especially essential in today’s socio-political climate, as almost weekly, there are blatant attacks on the mere existence of LGBTQIA+ folks.

So long as those holding the most marginalized identities are not prioritized in conversation, policy, or decision-making, the further we stray from achieving equity!

True allyship means showing up consistently, so let's honor the power and resilience of LGBTQIA+ communities by making a commitment to their safety and existence each and every day, not just in June.

Know of a must-attend Pride event happening soon? Share with us below!

If you could decide what your tax dollars were spent on, what would it be?

Thanks to an informative presentation from Kimmy Cook from Alliance for a Just Philadelphia, our Advocacy Community members questioned, brainstormed, and dove deeper into the City of Philadelphia's Tax revenue and what it funds at last month's advocacy meet-up.

Join us on June 17th at our next meet-up, as we welcome representatives from the People's Budget Office, to gain even more insight into how city funds are distributed and how this impacts gender equity.

Congresswoman Dean’s speech was filled with both reflections on the tremendous amount of progress made by trailblazers of the past and a realistic reminder that this country still has a significant amount of work to do to achieve gender equity.

Her words served as both a tribute to those who paved the way and a call to action for the work that still lies ahead!

Having a physical milestone procession felt very necessary for our 50th Anniversary Celebration.

Each milestone was carefully selected to represent the growth WOMEN'S WAY has achieved over half a century and each poster was carried by a community member who had a hand in that achievement.

We know 16 milestones don't begin to tell our whole story. That's where you come in.
Whether it's a quick reflection on how you first connected with us, or a deeper look at the impact WOMEN'S WAY has had on your life, we're continuing to honor our shared history by uplifting your story." we're continuing to honor the legacy of collective action by uplifting your stories.

To celebrate Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, we invited Speakers Bureau Member and artist Christina Tsan to create this beautiful, informative asset honoring three AANHPI feminists.

"I hope I get to expose a lot of people to these women and their work through this project. I don't feel like they are really known in the mainstream media unless you are already familiar with feminist work," Christina shared.

With her advocacy rooted in Asian American issues and immigrant rights, she has long envisioned using her graphic design skills to create projects that combine her interests in art and social justice.

Christina is just one of many Speakers Bureau Members using a variety of advocacy pathways, such as the arts, to generate awareness about gender inequities and to drive meaningful change.

Head to https://womensway.org/gwi/speakers-bureau/ to check out Christina's profile, and be sure to scroll all the way to the end of this post for a quick "About Me" section from the artist!
