We are SO excited to be here tonight and want to send a gigantic thank you to The Amazing Acro-Cats for inviting PURR to be part of their incredible show! ❤️

We’ve been looking forward to this, and now that we’re here, we’re even more excited to see these talented kitties in action! And our PURR kitties who came along tonight are pretty darn happy to be here too. 😻

Of course, none of this happens without our AWESOME volunteers who helped make tonight possible and are spending their evening here representing PURR, talking about our rescue, and helping our kitties hopefully meet some new fans — and maybe even their future families! 🏡🐾

We are incredibly grateful to Acro-Cats for including a local rescue in their show and helping shine a spotlight on cats in need. What a fun way to celebrate just how smart, talented, hilarious and downright AMAZING cats really are!

👑🐾 INTRODUCING KITTEN ROYALTY: MONTGOMERY & MIMI! 🐾👑

Please allow us to introduce Montgomery — Monty for short — and his adorable little sidekick, Mimi! ❤️

These two are seriously TOO CUTE together. Monty is the big, fluffy, majestic one who surely has a little Maine C**n somewhere in that family tree. And Mimi? She’s his tiny little counterpart. Big Monty. Little Mimi. The perfect pair. 🥹

They came to us quite shy and unsure of everything, but they have absolutely FLOURISHED — thanks to patience, love, and, perhaps most importantly… Churu meat tubes. 😂

These two are OBSESSED with Churus. Apparently, the quickest route to kitten royalty’s heart is through a squeezable treat 😻😻.

Once they realized that humans come bearing Churus, things changed quickly. They have blossomed into the sweetest little things, and watching their personalities emerge has been so much fun. ❤️

Because they adore each other and look ridiculously cute together, we would LOVE to find them a forever home as a pair. They can continue growing, gaining confidence, playing, snuggling and ruling their new kingdom together. 👑

Monty & Mimi are fully vetted and READY TO GO! They are:
🐾 Spayed/neutered
🐾 Vaccinated
🐾 Flea treated
🐾 Dewormed
🐾 Combo tested negative for FIV/FeLV
🐾 Microchipped

Their adoption fee is $150 — and when adopted as a pair, we WAIVE the adoption fee for the second kitten! ❤️

☯️🐾 MEET YIN & YANG — THE PERFECT PAIR! 🐾☯️

Seriously… Yin & Yang might just be one of the most awesome pairs of kitties you will EVER meet. ❤️

This little brother-and-sister duo is the whole package. They are affectionate, playful, silly, sweet, ridiculously cute, and just an absolute JOY to be around. They love people, they love to play, and best of all — they love each other. 🥹

These two are going to bring SO much happiness, laughter, cuddles, and chaos-in-the-best-way to someone’s home. We honestly cannot imagine a better little pair to come home to every day.

🐾 Yin & Yang are fully vetted and ready for adoption!
🐾 Adoption fee: $150
🐾 And because we want our kittens to have a buddy, we WAIVE the adoption fee for the second kitten!

They are so excited to find their perfect forever home and we really don’t want them to wait any longer.

🙏 Please share Yin & Yang. Somewhere out there is the family who is going to look at these two and wonder how they ever lived without them.

☯️ Yin & Yang belong together. Now they just need somewhere to belong forever. 🏡❤️

UPDATE: We are overwhelmed by the positive responses and thank everyone who offered to help with this task! We will be in touch directly to schedule training!

🚨 WE NEED HELP WITH ADOPTION APPLICATIONS! 🚨

This is honestly one of the easiest ways to make a HUGE difference for our cats — and you can do it right from home!

We desperately need volunteers willing to help us process adoption applications. Every application means a potential forever home for one of our cats, but someone has to do the behind-the-scenes work of checking references, contacting vets, following up with applicants, and helping move the process along.

And the more people we have helping, the less work it is for any one person! If we can build a solid team, nobody has to feel overwhelmed or overly taxed.

Even better, we have an INCREDIBLE volunteer who has agreed to oversee the entire program and will be there to provide training, answer questions, offer guidance, and support you every step of the way. ❤️ You will NOT be thrown into this and expected to figure it out yourself!

This is such a great opportunity for someone who wants to help but maybe can’t commit to feeding and cleaning, transporting cats, attending events, or doing some of the more physical volunteer jobs.

You can help us get cats into homes simply by donating a little bit of your time. And every cat who gets adopted opens up space for us to save another one.

🙏 PLEASE consider joining our application-processing team! If we get enough people involved, this can be easy and manageable for everyone — and it would take an enormous burden off the handful of people currently trying to keep up with everything.

Comment below if this is something you would be willing to help with! Even if you’re not sure exactly what it entails, comment and we’ll give you all the details. ❤️🐾

Trying so hard to focus on the GOOD over the BAD!!

It is so, so easy to get bogged down by the negative in cat rescue 😢😡😢😡.
The people who reach out desperately asking for help, but aren’t willing to do a single thing themselves. The people who promise to help and then don’t show up. The people who dump kittens in outdoor colonies or leave their cats behind when they move away. The people who have no issue with making their responsibility someone else’s problem. The endless messages we can’t possibly answer. The cases we agree to take that turn into something far more difficult than we ever imagined. There are days when it all feels like too much. Days when the bad seems so much louder than the good - because it probably is 😢😢😢.

More and more, I find myself forgetting to stop and appreciate the truly incredible people who pass through our doors — the people whose goodness reminds me why I keep doing this.

So, in the spirit of focusing on the GOOD every once in a while, I need to tell you about Remy and a woman named Anna. ❤️

Remy came to us under circumstances that were pretty heartbreaking. In my first (and fortunately only) conversation with his finder, she mentioned euthanizing him if I wouldn’t take him into PURR. This person only had two cats and even had a spare bedroom where Remy was staying, but she simply didn’t want to be inconvenienced by the situation any longer.

Ultimately, because I couldn’t stand the thought of returning Remy to this awful person, Remy ended up at my house. A house that already had way too many cats. For a cat like Remy who does NOT like other cats, it was, quite frankly, a nightmare.

It was also one of those moments when I remember thinking, I cannot keep doing this. I cannot take on one more thing. I am going under and I just want to walk away from it all.

And then, appearing exactly when I needed her to, a woman I had never even worked with before offered to foster Remy.

Her name was Anna.

I’ll admit that I was hesitant. Maybe seeing so many people make promises and not follow through has made me a little cynical. But I was also desperate, so I decided to take the chance. I drove Remy to Anna’s house, and I will never forget walking through her door.

There was just this peacefulness about her home. A gentleness. A kindness that I could almost physically feel. I remember leaving that day thinking that if Remy can make it anywhere, he can make it here 😻❤️😻.
But I still didn’t know if it would work. Because Remy was NOT a turnkey cat. He was shy. He needed time. And as Anna got to know him, we realized there were some other behavioral challenges, too.

But here is the amazing part: Anna never faltered. Not once.
She would tell me what was happening, but she would keep working with him. At one point, I even told her that if he was too much, I would absolutely take him back. I remember feeling sick to my stomach typing those words because, truthfully, I had absolutely no idea where I would put him if he came back.

But he never did.

Despite the challenges, despite the headaches, despite Remy not being the easiest cat, Anna remained committed to him.

And then I got the best message of the year. Anna had decided to officially foster fail Remy. ❤️ To say I was overjoyed would be a humungous understatement.

I share this because I spend way too much time allowing the people who disappoint me to affect me far beyond the individual situation. Their actions make me question people. They make me question rescue. Sometimes they make me question whether I can keep doing this at all.

But I need to be better about remembering that the opposite is also true. The people who step up when they don’t have to. The people who keep their promises. The people who take the difficult cat and don’t give up when things aren’t perfect. The people who quietly go above and beyond without ever expecting recognition…

They are what keeps me going.

Sometimes I honestly believe there is a higher power at work, because it seems like these people appear at exactly the moment when I am at the lowest of the lows and desperately need to be reminded that there is still so much good in this world.

Anna was one of those people.

So thank you, Anna. Thank you for taking a chance on Remy. Thank you for seeing him through the difficult parts. Thank you for giving him the patience and grace he needed. And most of all, thank you for giving him his forever home.
I hope Remy understands that he absolutely hit the jackpot. ❤️

And to every single person who has gone above and beyond for one of our cats, our rescue, or for me personally when I desperately needed it…

Thank you more than words can ever say. You may not realize it, but you are the reason we keep going. ❤️🐾

Sweet GRAYSON is still waiting for his perfect home 😢💔😢.

Grayson is absolutely stunning — with the softest, fluffiest coat and those soulful eyes that stop you in your tracks. But behind all that beauty is a very shy boy who just needed someone to truly understand him.

We took Grayson in from a local volunteer involved in Trap-Neuter-Respond (TNR). She told us that he had suddenly showed up at a colony that she cared for and begged us to take him because he was having a very difficult time surviving outside. When Grayson first came to us, he spent nearly six weeks hiding. His finder kept insisting that he was a friendly cat… but, to be honest, we started to doubt it. We truly thought we might have to send him back to the outside colony he had come from because he just wouldn’t come out of his shell.

But then things started to change.

Slowly, he began venturing out and would lean into pets while he was eating. More and more he would come out and solicit affection. We started to see the real Grayson — and he was a complete lovebug. We realized that he wasn’t unfriendly… he was just scared and overwhelmed, which makes us wonder what happened in his past.

It has now been about six months that Grayson has been in foster with us and he has flourished so much. Now that he feels safe, he is incredibly affectionate, sweet, and so deserving of a home that will give him the same patience and understanding that helped him come out of his shell.

✨ Grayson’s Ideal Home:

-Must have another friendly cat (he does great with other cats!)

-According to his finder, who fostered him temporarily, he is dog-friendly!!!

-Adult-only or quiet home

-Someone willing to start him in a small space and give him time to adjust

Grayson is fully vetted and ready for his forever home — but we will be carefully screening applications for him to make sure it’s the right fit. He is not a “plug and play” cat… but for the right person, he is something incredibly special.

Some cats just need a little extra time… and Grayson is so worth it 💫

💕 BUFFY’S STORY 💕

Buffy is the kind of cat I love so, so, so much. And, ironically, she made her way to us almost completely by accident and was almost released!!

Buffy’s story with us started about six months ago when we were contacted by someone asking us to take in some kittens who had been born outside. We made it clear that a condition of taking the kittens was that we would also need to address the adult cats in the area and, at minimum, get them all fixed because simply plucking kittens off the street while leaving their unsterilized parents behind is insanely IRRESPONSIBLE. If we are going to help, we want to actually end the “kitten cycle”.

Anyway….back to Buffy’s story. The caretaker estimated there were about five adult cats regularly coming around, including the kittens’ presumed mom. She told us that all of the cats were feral and agreed to help us trap everyone.

We trapped about 6 cats very quickly, of which Buffy was one, but the caretaker didn’t recognize her.
She was this incredibly skinny, dirty, beat-up little white cat who was so terrified and shut down. Even though the caretaker didn’t recognize her, we took her to the clinic to get her fixed and assumed that we would have to release her afterwards. Side note - the other cats who were supposed to be “feral”. turned out to be varying degrees of some of the sweetest, friendliest cats imaginable. Buffy was actually the only one we thought might need to be returned outside.

So Buffy went to the clinic to be spayed, and because we thought she would probably be released, we had her ear-tipped. But something made us want to give her a little time before making that decision, so we also had her combo tested and planned to keep her for a few days to see how she adjusted.

During her spay surgery, the vet discovered that Buffy was nursing, meaning there were kittens somewhere 😢😢😢. The caretaker helped to search and search for them, but they were never found. Maybe Buffy belonged to someone and went in and out of a house. Maybe she had given birth somewhere we simply couldn’t find. Maybe someone had already taken her kittens. Sadly, we will never know.

What we did know was that Buffy was full of milk…and suddenly separated from her babies.
At the same time, completely coincidentally, we had taken in a litter of tiny orphaned kittens who were struggling terribly. They were being bottle-fed but just weren’t gaining the weight they needed to gain, and we were becoming increasingly worried about them.

Eventually, we decided to try something. We introduced them to Buffy and this scared, skinny, shut-down little cat who had lost her own babies immediately became the mama that these babies desperately needed. ❤️. Buffy took incredible care of them. She nursed them, cleaned them, loved them and quite literally helped nurse these struggling little kittens back to health. It felt like somehow they had found each other exactly when they needed each other most.
And the funniest part? They even looked like they belonged together. 😂

But while Buffy was taking care of those babies, something else happened. We started getting to know Buffy and realized that underneath all that fear was the sweetest, gentlest little girl.
She is quiet and shy but little by little, as she realized she was safe, she started allowing herself to trust us and show her incredibly sweet and affectionate side.

Today, Buffy barely looks like that emaciated little cat we trapped. She has probably doubled in size. She still has a petite little frame, but she has filled out beautifully, her coat looks so much better, and most importantly, she is learning what it feels like to be loved.

Although Buffy has gained a lot of confidence, her adopter will still need to understand that Buffy may need a little time to realize that her new home is safe. We have absolutely no idea what happened to her before she crossed our path but, based on the condition she was in and how terrified she was, we are guessing life had not been especially kind to her.

Buffy is fine with other cats, but we also think she would be perfectly happy as an only cat — and honestly, there is something about imagining this little girl as someone’s one and only, being spoiled absolutely rotten, that makes us ridiculously happy. 🥹💕

She deserves a person who will be patient with her. She deserves to know she will never be hungry again. She deserves to know she will never have to survive outside again. She deserves more than a few minutes of attention squeezed into a day among dozens of other rescue cats.

Somehow, this little cat we weren’t even looking for crossed our path and we are so incredibly grateful that she did. Now we just need to finish her story by finding the person who will make sure Buffy knows, for the rest of her life, that she is finally safe. ❤️

🏡 Please share Buffy and help us find her forever home.
