Where do we start !!! Year 21 of the Hal B Hempen Foundations annual handicapped youth hunt with Ted Nugent has come to a close!! Only and I mean only with the support of friends, family, volunteers, golfers ,Ted Nugent and his wonderful crew or just anyone involved in anyway could this still be going strong for so many years!! Thank You everyone so much!!! Now for the really cool stuff. This year we had the privilege to take two hunters to Teds to hunt. Damian Kelley along with his Mom,Dad and Sister and Steven Reuss with his Dad and Brother in law. What 2 Great Families!! Damian started off the successful hunt with a great shot on a Giant Hog with his 350 legend his Dad made up for him. Great job Damian on a mammoth 500 lb Hog,we are so proud of you. Steven was up next wanting to take a Ram.the morning didn’t work out real well with the rams all staying bunched together not giving a clean ethical shot. After going in for lunch prepared by Toby Nugent(his famous meatloaf and potatoes) Steven headed back out with a new game plan. After locating the heard of rams again , he was able to be positioned to a spot where he could make a shot on a beatiful ram . Great shot and Great patience was showed by Steven to get it done!! Thank you Jim Knapp for the help making it happen. After a long day of hunting everyone cleaned up and went to the Hunt Club for a delicious supper. Day 2 was the anticipated wait for Ted to show up for campfire stories, autographs and a most fantastic rendition of Fred Bear on his acoustic guitar. Thanks as always Ted!! Lunch of fried fish and chips was served to everyone by the Hal b Hempen volunteers (Thanks Guys,Great as Always). We have to give an extra big Thank You to guides Paul Wilson , Jim Knapp , George Zieman ,Toby Nugent and of course Ted Nugent. You guys make sure this hunt goes off flawlessly year after year. Another Thank you to everyone who has anything to do with the foundation, you truly can’t believe how much we appreciate your support! Until next year (Godspeed)
