Quynh is a rising senior at Virginia Tech pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Cybersecurity Management and Analytics with interests spanning cybersecurity, data analytics, governance, risk management, and cloud technologies.

Throughout her internship, Quynh will support:

🔹 Raíces Cyber Youth Corps — Curriculum & Challenge Design
🔹 RCYC Bootcamp — Virtual Teacher Assistant
🔹 Cybersecurity Governance — Risk Assessment & Cyber Risk Analysis

A major milestone for transportation in the Caribbean is also becoming an important example of cyber resilience.

The Santiago de los Caballeros Monorail, the first monorail system in the Caribbean, will incorporate cybersecurity services designed to help protect critical systems across the project lifecycle.

While many people associate cybersecurity with computers and networks, modern transportation systems rely on a wide range of connected technologies, including train control systems, signaling, power infrastructure, ticketing platforms, CCTV, and other digital operations.

As cities continue investing in smart infrastructure, cybersecurity becomes part of the foundation that helps keep services reliable, resilient, and secure.

For the Dominican Republic, this project represents more than a transportation milestone. It highlights how digital security is becoming an essential component of the systems communities depend on every day.
