National Black Brewers Association

National Black Brewers Association The National Black Brewers Association is a non-profit to promote the Black brewing community. Less than 1% of craft breweries in the U.S.

are owned by African Americans and there is no single entity to help African American brewers and brewery owners with their specific needs and issues. Given these challenges, the National Black Brewers Association (“NB2A”) was formed as a 501c6 membership-based non-profit organization in 2022 to: (1) Promote the Black brewing community as a first-of-its kind organization; (2) Increase the number o

f African Americans in the brewing industry at all levels of production, especially ownership and brewmaster; (3) Exercise political influence by developing and advocating for effective policy; and (4) Foster understanding about the history and legacy of African American brewing in the United States. The NB2A is governed by a dynamic Trustee Board comprised of the most experienced and successful Black brewery owners and brewmasters across the country.

A moment worth toasting. 🍻✨

Congratulations to the Barrels on the Bayou team on this incredible accomplishment—officially recognized by the City of New Orleans for making history with Louisiana’s first Black-owned beer festival.

What you’ve built is bigger than a single day. It’s a spark that’s going to keep catching, year after year. We’re excited to watch this festival grow, evolve, and keep pouring into the culture.

Today, We celebrate National Black Brewers Day

Each year on October 10, National Black Brewers Day commemorates this pivotal moment while celebrating the creativity, craftsmanship, and leadership of Black professionals in the brewing world. The day serves as both a tribute to those who paved the way and a recognition of the new generation of Black brewers shaping the evolving landscape of craft beer.

As we honor National Black Brewers Day, the NB2A celebrates not only the creativity and resilience of Black brewers and business owners, but also the many allies who stand with us in building a more inclusive craft beer community. Together, we’ll continue our mission to uplift, support, and create lasting opportunities for Black professionals and their businesses across the industry.

We know that we are missing so many incredible and talented people in this photo. Please know that we see you and your impact in the industry.
