Yes, we teach music production AND music business!

According to our students (from our last case study), the work we do with marketing and branding doesn’t just help them promote their music—it helps them understand who they are, how they want to be seen, and how to move with intention. We’ve watched students go from “I don’t know what I want to say” to building full identities, stories, and visions for their future.

Watching Cassidy graduate FamFrequency Productions and head off to college confident in themselves and their path—while continuing music as both a practice and a source of income…

…that’s the real headline for us. This is what it looks like when young people learn to define themselves before the world tries to do it for them.

Yes, we teach music production and music business, but the heart and soul of what we do is way deeper than that. 🌸 came through and led a session with our student-DJs focused on FX transitions.

They worked on how to use effects intentionally—clean transitions that actually support the mix.

He also shared his experience as a working DJ—name changes, how he’s navigated different rooms, built opportunities, and grown within the craft.

We're proud of the skills our student-artists build — the production, the career navigation, the branding, the budgetting. But the work of helping a young person answer "who am I, and why does that matter?" might be the most important thing we do.

A recent focus group study with our student-artists revealed something we didn't fully see coming — our branding curriculum is doing more than teaching target audience, It's doing identity work.
