What’s so right now is that there are many varied user groups of the Delaware River in Philadelphia - commercial, recreational, educational, environmental, residential, governmental, etc - and the communities don’t (that I know of) connect.

If the communities remain disconnected, decisions by one could unintentionally be at odds with the interests of others.

The possibility of linking the varied communities that use the Delaware River in Philadelphia encourages continued diversity of uses of the River and some kind of information sharing would mean decisions by one community might be better informed as to how they might impact other communities. And as a residential and recreational user of the River myself, I’m curious about what I’m seeing when I look at who else is on the river!

What do you see is possible?

This page is born of curiosity about the many communities and diverse uses and stories around the Delaware River in Philadelphia, and of hope for the continued vitality and interaction between them.

Communities include residential, recreational, commercial, industrial, educational and more. Marine traffic includes freighters, tankers, tugs and pilot boats; cabin cruisers, jet skis and kayaks. And more!

My goal for this community project is to bring together these diverse communities and users of the river and riverfront who are curious about who else is on the river. My hopes include that these communities thrive and the diversity of interests on and along the river continues.
