Draw the Lines PA

Draw the Lines PA Draw the Lines (DTL) is a civic education and engagement competition that launched in spring 2018. More than 7,200 citizen mappers helped complete 1,500 maps.

In 2018, the Committee of Seventy launched Draw the Lines, a statewide civic education initiative for Pennsylvanians to bring transparency and engagement to redistricting. It puts the same digital tools that the political operatives use to draw gerrymandered maps into the hands of citizens of all ages across the Commonwealth, so that they can draw their own maps and show how citizen involvement le

ads to sounder, fairer election maps. More than 12,000 people participated in DTL programs and events. Top citizen mappers won nearly $100k in prizes. Ultimately, Draw the Lines succeeded beyond our wildest dreams in bringing transparency and citizen engagement to the once-arcane and hugely important process of redistricting. linktr.ee/drawthelinespa
