"Hope will never be silent." - Harvey Milk π³οΈβπβ¨
On Harvey Milk Day, we celebrate a man who chose joy as his weapon and visibility as his superpower...
Harvey Milk didn't just make history, he made people feel like history was theirs to make too. As the first openly gay elected official in U.S. history, he walked into rooms that weren't built for him and lit them up anyway. He believed, fiercely and without apology, that being seen was the most powerful thing a person could do...His voice was silenced. His hope was not...
That hope is the thread that runs from 1978 all the way to today, through every pride march, every election won, every young person who came out and felt just a little less alone because someone before them had the courage to go first. The work isn't finished, but look how far that hope has carried us.
Because Milk gave us something that outlasts any single moment: a reminder that visibility is power, and authenticity is resistance - not just in the big, loud moments, but in the quiet everyday choice to be exactly who you are.
As Pride Month approaches, we honor him by doing exactly what he asked of us...Live loudly. Love openly. Never stop hoping! β€οΈπ§‘ππππ
