We’re so excited to partner with Bringing Everybody Together for our Kreate Your Kourage participants! ❤️

Our art therapy participants and campers have spent the year and summer creating, growing, learning and finding healthy ways to express what’s happening on the inside.

That’s WHY we do what we do. 🎨❤️

Art gives our young people a safe space to express emotions that sometimes are too hard to put into words. Through painting, creating, talking and simply being in a space where they feel safe and heard, they’ve learned that their feelings matter, their voice matters and they matter.

So as we prepare them for another school year, we want to celebrate more than just the supplies in their backpacks. We want to celebrate the growth we’ve witnessed in them. 💗💜💛

We’re grateful to B.E.T., DTLR, Stenton Museum and A.😭.R.A.C.T. Philly for helping us continue pouring into our youth.

Moments like these matter.

We teach our youth that it’s important to know the people who are doing the work in our communities. Leaders aren’t just names on a ballot or faces on a campaign sign, they’re individuals helping shape policies, invest in neighborhoods, and create opportunities for families across Philadelphia.

When young people are introduced to community leaders, they begin to understand that their voices matter too. They learn that civic engagement isn’t something that starts when you’re an adult; it begins with being present, asking questions, building relationships, and understanding who is working to make a difference.

At the Kreate Your Kourage Foundation, we don’t just encourage our youth to dream, we encourage them to engage. We want them to know their community, understand leadership, and recognize that one day, they can be the ones sitting at the tables where decisions are made.

Today’s photo is a reminder that exposure creates opportunity, relationships build bridges, and every conversation has the potential to inspire the next generation of leaders.

This is how we Kreate Kourage. 💜

Today is a beautiful day to connect, create, and serve!

We are proud to be a community resource at the B.U.I.L.T. Community Resource Fair, in partnership with Philadelphia Housing Authority (PHA) at Vaux.

Our Founder & CEO, Kalie is leading our art therapy experience, providing children, youth, and families with a safe and creative space to explore emotions, build resilience, and discover the healing power of art.

At Kreate Your Kourage, we believe every brushstroke, every color, and every creative expression is an opportunity to strengthen confidence, encourage emotional wellness, and remind our community that courage can be cultivated.

If you’re attending the resource fair today, stop by our table, say hello, and create something meaningful with us. We can’t wait to meet you!

Creating courage. Inspiring resilience. Building brighter futures. 💜🎨

Sometimes the most challenging person to spend five uninterrupted minutes with... is ourselves.

Today's activity wasn't about a mirror.

It was about attention.

We asked Jaiden to quietly look at himself for five minutes before writing down his thoughts, feelings, and observations.

The assignment sounded easy.

It wasn't.

His mind wanted to wander. His attention shifted. Staying present with his own reflection required more intention than he expected.

That moment reminded us of something we don't talk about enough.

Children are constantly being taught how to observe the world around them, but rarely are they taught how to observe themselves.

At the Kourage House, we intentionally create experiences that strengthen self-awareness because you can't nurture an identity you've never taken the time to notice.

Sometimes growth isn't about changing who you are.

Sometimes it's about finally paying attention to the person you've been all along. 💜

Sometimes as influencers for our young people we ask them to “use their words.”

But what if the emotion they’re carrying doesn’t speak English yet?

What if it speaks in color...
in texture...
in movement...
in the pressure of a marker...
or in a line drawn too hard across a page?

Every child is fluent in something before they’re fluent in self-expression.

Art simply becomes the interpreter and once a child realizes they don’t have to find the right words to be understood, something extraordinary happens...

They begin finding themselves. ❣️

Learning Never Takes a Summer Break at the Kourage House!💜

Today, our friend Jaiden reminded us that every lesson builds confidence!

During today’s tutoring session, we focused on skills that every child needs but many no longer get enough practice with in school.

🕒 We mastered telling time using an analog clock, including:
• O’clock
• Quarter past the hour
• Half past the hour
• Quarter to the hour
• Understanding the hour hand and the minute hand—and what each one tells us.

📖 We also explored the Five Pillars of Reading:
✨ Phonemic Awareness
✨ Phonics
✨ Fluency
✨ Vocabulary
✨ Comprehension

Instead of simply memorizing the words, we broke down what each pillar means and why each one is essential for becoming a confident reader.

Our reading selection was Sincerely Sicily by Tamika Burgess, a wonderful work of realistic fiction that encourages readers to connect with characters and situations that reflect real-life experiences while strengthening comprehension and critical thinking skills.

We are so proud of Jaiden for asking questions, staying engaged, and working hard throughout his session. Every small victory is another step toward academic confidence!

💜 If your child could benefit from extra support this summer, whether they need to catch up, stay on track, or get ahead before the new school year the Kourage House is here to help.

Our tutoring sessions are designed to build confidence, strengthen foundational skills, and remind every child that they are capable of success.

📚 Summer tutoring is now available!

Our Founder believes that leadership isn’t just about creating programs, it’s about showing up for the people who are showing up for our communities. 💜

Today, Kalie and the Kreate Your Kourage Foundation had the honor of supporting during their 3rd Annual Community Day on the historic front lawn of Germantown High School.

At Kreate Your Kourage, we’re intentional about knowing who’s who in our communities because partnerships matter. The organizations doing the work, the small businesses serving our neighborhoods, the volunteers, the families, and the leaders pouring back into Philadelphia all deserve to be seen, celebrated, and supported.

Today’s event was a beautiful and we give a very special thank you to Founder Taja Morris and the entire Sisters With An Agenda team for creating spaces that foster peace, unity, and opportunity while uplifting the heartbeat of our neighborhoods. Your work reminds us that when we invest in one another, we all grow stronger.

Here’s to continuing to build bridges, strengthen partnerships, and cultivate courageous communities together.

💜 With gratitude,
The Kreate Your Kourage Foundation

What a smile. 💛

There is something special about a “first.”

The first day.
The first hello.
The first time walking into a room where you don’t know anyone.
The first time saying, “I’ll give it a try.”

Those moments ask us to do something brave before we even realize it.

This week, Jaiden reminded us what courage can look like. He showed up. He took a chance. He leaned in. And before the week was over, we were already seeing more smiles, more laughter, and more of his amazing personality shine through.

At the Kourage House, we don’t rush children to come out of their shells, we nurture them while they grow. We create spaces where they can move at their own pace, build trust, discover new friendships, and find the confidence that has been inside them all along.

Because courage isn’t about never being nervous.

Sometimes courage is simply showing up for the very first time.

We’re so proud of you, Jaiden. Keep shining. 💜✨
